The Bucks are expected to play at a faster pace with Monta Ellis joining Brandon Jennings in the backcourt.
“We’re pushing the ball up the floor, and we’ve got multiple ball handlers out there,” said Scott Skiles. Jennings expressed no doubt that he and Ellis will be able to coexist, but that remains to be seen. The Bucks have certainly needed a scorer like Ellis for some time.
  • NBA Shooting Guard #11
Monta Ellis scored 25 points on 9-of-21 shooting (0-for-1 from deep, 7-of-9 from the line) with four rebounds, three assists, and three steals in the Bucks’ 95-90 win over the Bobcats on Friday.
Ellis has been struggling in fantasy leagues lately because of a lack of 3-point shots, averaging just 0.4 per game over his last six contests. He has also turned the ball over 3.3 times per game. Everything else is more or less in place, though, as he’s averaging 17.6 points, 4.1 boards, 5.4 assists, and 1.3 steals during that span. Brandon Jennings added 18 points, nine assists, five steals, and two threes, and Ersan Ilyasova double-doubled with 12 points, 15 boards, two steals, and a three.
  • Point Guard #11
Brandon Jennings hit just 8-of-23 shots (1-of-8 from deep, 10-of-10 from the line) in the Bucks’ loss to the Pacers on Thursday, scoring 27 points with five rebounds, two assists, and five turnovers.
Jennings and Monta Ellis (12 points, four rebounds, seven assists) combined to hit 13-of-37 shots from the field (35 percent), which isn’t too surprising against a solid defensive backcourt of George Hill and Paul George. The Bucks’ loss all-but kills their playoff hopes as they’re 3.0 games behind idle Philadelphia.
  • Point Guard #11
Brandon Jennings hit just 2-of-11 shots (both 3-pointers) for six points and eight assists in Wednesday’s loss to Boston.
He was dominated by Rajon Rondo, who had a triple-double, and has been really struggling with his shot lately. Jennings hasn’t hit 50 percent of his shots in a single February game, and the Bucks have played 15 of them. As tempting as it may be to drop him in order to save your field goal percentage, he’s simply too dangerous to cut. If you own him, just hope the slump will end soon.
  • Point Guard #11
Brandon Jennings scored 34 points on 10-of-23 shooting (5-of-8 from deep, 9-of-11 from the line) with three rebounds, nine assists, and two steals in the Bucks’ loss to the Hawks on Friday.
Jennings’ field goal percentage came crashing down to Earth, along with his value, and hopefully our calls to sell-high were listened to a month ago. Likewise, his 33.6 percent field goal percentage in February is bound to improve, so when the luster of this line wears off it’s time to consider buying low, Mortimer.
  • MIL Small Forward #10
Milwaukee stole a victory in Toronto on Sunday, despite having three starters (Brandon Jennings, Carlos Delfino and Tobias Harris) combine for just 16 points on 6-of-24 shooting.
Jennings (4-of-14 FGs) is hovering just above 40 percent shooting on the season, while Delfino (2-of-7 FGs) is stuck at 38.4 percent. Both guys have enough versatility (and steady enough minutes) to warrant starting in most fantasy leagues, but games like this are hard to stomach.
  • Point Guard #11
The Bucks have made Brandon Jennings available “for the right price,” sources tell SI.com.
At this time of year, just about everyone is available for the price. The Bucks could never get equal value for a 22-year-old point guard that is under club control through 2013-14. The Bucks are much more likely to be intrigued by offers for oft-injured center Andrew Bogut.
  • Point Guard #11
Brandon Jennings and other Bucks players had bus trouble heading into New Jersey for Monday’s game.
Jennings was nowhere to be seen 90 minutes before tip-off, which prompted speculation that some trade action could be in the works. We’ll monitor the situation and let you know if there is any reason to alter lineups. Stephen Jackson (hamstring), Shaun Livingston (ankle), and Luc Richard Mbah a Moute (knee) were all reported to be day-to-day in NBA.com’s pregame notes, so presumably they won’t play, but we’re not sure.
  • DET Point Guard #19
Beno Udrih scored 15 points off the bench on Monday, hitting 6-of-11 shots from the field (including two threes) with three rebounds, seven assists, and a steal in 33 minutes.
The Nets were the opposition tonight, so owners need to downgrade this performance a little bit, but there’s also a little bit to like about Beno. Brandon Jennings is available “for the right price,” which could mean anything this time of the year, and the Bucks appear to be trending toward unloading players rather than bringing them on. Surely the Bucks know they’re redundant at PG, too, and owners will want to watch Beno closely as we approach the deadline.
  • Point Guard #11
Brandon Jennings scored 34 points on 12-of-23 shooting (including six threes) with seven rebounds, seven assists, and two blocks in the Bucks’ win over the Nets on Monday.
Jennings is reportedly available for trade “at the right price,” and it’s possible that the team gave him encouragement to perform in order to boost his value. That, or he saw slow-footed Jordan Farmar across from him and decided to pounce. Drew Gooden added 23 points, eight rebounds, and seven assists in the win.
