The Memphis Commercial Appeal has learned that Hubie Brown’s health-related issues for announcing his retirement had to do with his chest... and other factors.

Brown had been concealing chest pains, which may have been brought on by stress, since he had been exhausted by a constant struggle to coax Jason Williams and Bonzi Wells into honoring his coaching philosophy. There are also multiple trade rumors swirling around J-Will, including him going to New Jersey in a package for Jason Kidd or Philadelphia in a package for Kenny Thomas. If he goes and they don’t get a top-notch point guard in return, Earl Watson’s value goes through the roof.
