Rudy Gobert was ejected from Monday’s game against the Suns with 7:59 remaining in the third quarter.
Gobert was issued a Flagrant 2 foul and ejected for his hard foul on Mark Williams as the Suns’ center attempted a dunk. Gobert played 21 minutes, finishing with 15 points (7-of-9 FGs, 1-of-2 FTs), eight rebounds, one assist and one steal. Naz Reid replaced Gobert and should log heavy minutes the rest of the way, with a little Joan Beringer sprinkled in.
  • MIN Forward #19
Joan Beringer amassed 10 points (5-of-8 FGs), 10 rebounds, one assist and two blocks in Monday’s exhibition against Guangzhou.
With the Timberwolves resting their regulars, including Rudy Gobert and Naz Reid, Beringer was in the starting lineup Monday night. The first-round pick out of France dropped a double-double on efficient shooting while blocking two shots. With Gobert and Reid in the fold, Beringer is unlikely to impact redraft leagues this season. However, the 18-year-old is a prospect who should be rostered in dynasty leagues.
  • MIN Center #19
Joan Beringer made his preseason debut on Saturday and finished with 14 points (6-of-8 FGs), four rebounds and one block against the Nuggets.
The rookie was one of the stars of summer league because of his defense, but he was able to make an offensive impact in his preseason debut. The rookie will play behind Rudy Gobert this year, but his long-term upside makes him worth hanging onto in dynasty formats.
  • Joan Beringer amassed 11 points (5-of-6 FGs, 1-of-2 FTs), eight rebounds, one assist, two steals and seven blocked shots in Thursday’s win over the Pelicans.
Beringer may not have been discussed as a marquee player heading into the opening day of the NBA 2K26 Summer League, but the first-round pick out of France changed that almost immediately. He rejected three shots before the game’s first timeout on Thursday and finished with seven blocks. Beringer was bouncy on both ends of the floor, finishing above the rim offensively and serving as a significant deterrent in the paint defensively. Learning from countryman Rudy Gobert should benefit Beringer, whose value in dynasty leagues likely skyrocketed following his performance against the Pelicans.
  • Joan Beringer was selected by the Timberwolves with the No. 17 pick in the 2025 NBA Draft.
The Frenchman stands nearly seven feet tall and has a 7’4.5” wingspan, which could translate into dominant defensive production. He won’t turn 19 until November, and he’s an incredibly raw prospect as he didn’t start playing basketball until 2021. He played a limited role in Slovenia this past season, so the numbers aren’t pretty, with averages of 5.1 points, 4.7 rebounds and 1.4 blocks in 18.2 minutes per game. It may take some time for him to figure things out, but he could turn into an impactful player on defense that can provide traditional center stats for fantasy managers. He’ll get to learn the position from fellow French big man Rudy Gobert, which could be a big boon to his development in the Association.
