Wright left in the first quarter Wednesday night. He will be re-evaluated next week when the team returns to Memphis.

Wright is undergoing rehab and the knee is healing. He should be ready for the playoffs.

Wright has a strained right knee. Jake Tsakalidis will start in his place, but the Griz are more interested in seeing if Stromile Swift can come through in the backup role. “Swift has to get his game together,” Brown said. “Since the trade deadline he’s had maybe one good game. What we need right now is for him to pick it up.”

Wright practiced yesterday and expects to play in Memphis’ final eight regular season games.

Wright is day-to-day, and should be reserved this week.

Stromile Swift will have some value while Wright is out.

Wright, the team’s spiritual leader, returned with a huge smile and the same energy teammates had grown accustomed to seeing. Wright is expected to come off the bench Sunday against Atlanta. In his absence, Stromile Swift has emerged as the starter.

At $7.7 million, Wright isn’t too overpriced. However, there’s very little chance he’ll be taken in the draft. The Bobcats can only select one player from each team, and they’ll take a younger player from Memphis, most likely Bell. Wright, a 6-11, 250-pound 10-year veteran, played the past five seasons in Memphis, and will serve as Zaza Pachulia’s backup in Atlanta. He averaged averaged 5.8 points and 5.1 rebounds while playing just 21.7 minutes per game last season, and should be good for around 5 & 5 again this year.
