Doc Rivers says there’s still no timetable for Blake Griffin’s return from elbow surgery

The Clippers face the Warriors on Sunday afternoon, but that game will not be the return of Blake Griffin. He’s not even with the team right now, having missed the last 11 games recovering after having surgery on a staph infection in his right elbow.

When will he be back? Nobody knows.

Clippers coach Doc Rivers says there is still no timetable for Blake Griffin (staph infection) to return.

A staph infection can be problematic because, unlike a more conventional injury, there’s no set timeline for a return. Every one is different, and the doctors want to make sure the infection is completely gone before a player even resumes full basketball activities. Griffin could be back soon, but it doesn’t sound like it’s going to happen in the immediate future.

In the next week, the Clippers play the Thunder, Mavericks and Rockets, three teams they’re directly competing with for seeding in the Western Conference playoff bracket.
