After joining Reebok as a rookie, John Wall switched over to their parent company, Adidas, partway through his contract. Since then, he’s become one of the most popular and well-regarded stars in the NBA, and he’s due for a major payday on his next sneaker contract, which could come from anywhere.

Via Jorge Castillo of the Washington Post:

The two-time all-star’s contract with Adidas expired on Sept. 30, making him available to sign with any sneaker company.

“My main focus is just play basketball. I let my agents and marketing team and them negotiate and talk,” Wall said after shoot-around at the Palace of Auburn Hills before Saturday night’s game against the Detroit Pistons. “I’m just trying to focus on the season and not worry about what’s going on off the court and play basketball.”

Wall’s last shoe contract paid him $5 million annually. Since then, he’s become a perennial All-Star with his own signature line with Adidas. Whichever company he signs with next will pay him significantly more.
