Kelenna Azubuike reportedly looking good in Cleveland
There was a time, a few years and a few knee surgeries ago, that Kelenna Azubuike was a player on the rise. His last year in Golden State he averaged 13.9 points her game on 54 percent shooting, he was incredibly athletic and had the kind of game fans love to watch. He played well for Don Nelson in Golden State then was traded to the Knicks where he would have fit well with then-coach Mike D’Antoni’s system.
But he suffered a torn patellar tendon in 2009. Last year he needed a second surgery to repair a poorly handled first surgery. Last season he was with Dallas and played 6 minutes all season, and on draft night was traded to the Cavaliers.
But if you want a ray of hope, there is this note from Cavs GM Chris Grant via Sam Amico of Fox Sports Ohio.
We’ll believe it when we see it at this point.
But I really hope to see it.
