Near the end of the third quarter of the Nets’ 107-99 win over the Kings, Kevin Garnett converted an alley-oop dunk.
Garnett is 38 years old and in his 20th season, so he doesn’t do things like that very much anymore. But he still wasn’t thrilled at the level of surprise his dunk was met with after the game:KG on his alley-oop: “Look, I can actually dunk. You start in the NBA, you should be able to dunk. Get the hell out of here with that.”
— Rod Boone (@rodboone) December 30, 2014KG: “I know I’m like 150 years in dog years, but I can actually dunk the ball. Like G-- damn. Do I look that bad out there? God man.”
— Rod Boone (@rodboone) December 30, 2014It’s a perfect response—obviously Garnett isn’t nearly the athlete he used to be, but he has never lost his pride, even as his performance has declined considerably in the last few seasons. The game will not be the same when he’s gone.
