Whether or not Conley plays again tonight, it’s extremely encouraging that it’s even a possibility. His long-term outlook looks much more optimistic.
Grizzlies guard Mike Conley was trying to create a little space against Avery Bradley, and the Grizzlies guard’s leg gave out. This looks serious – both for Conley’s knee AND ankle – and Conley was carried off the court by teammates.
If this injury is as bad as it looks, that’s awful news for the Grizzlies, a legitimate championship contender. Conley is perpetually a borderline All-Star, the floor general of Memphis offense and a helpful defender. They Grizzlies would be in a deep hole without him.
Hopefully, this isn’t quite as bad as it looks.
