Nets forward Mirza Teletovic out for season with multiple blood clots in the lungs
Mirza Teletovic left last night’s Nets-Clippers game in the second quarter and went to the hospital after experiencing shortness of breath.
He later tweeted:
Unfortunately, the medical results aren’t as cheery.
The Nets, who are slipping from playoff position, will miss Teletovic, a stretch four who was averaging 8.5 points and 4.9 rebounds per game, on the court.
But that’s secondary to Teletovic’s long-term health. This is a scary-sounding diagnosis, one that makes you wonder whether the 29-year-old’s career is over.
Hopefully, Teletovic makes a full recovery and plays again.
