The Warriors’ fairytale offseason has hit a rough spot.

Golden State forward Draymond Green, who played collegiately at Michigan State, was reportedly arrested in East Lansing.

Brendan F. Quinn of MLive:

Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green -- the former Michigan State star and member of this summer’s United States Olympic men’s basketball team -- was arrested for assault Sunday in East Lansing, MLive learned Monday.

The details of Green’s arrest are unknown at this time.

“The police department is not confirming any arrest with that name,” said Lt. Scott Wrigglesworth, the East Lansing police department Public Information Officer. “What I can confirm is that we did arrest a current NBA basketball player this weekend and he was arrested for assault. That’s all we’re confirming right now.”

The Warriors released this statement:

“We are aware of news involving Draymond Green in Michigan over the weekend. At this point, we are collecting information and will have no further comment until we have a better understanding of the situation.”

Traditionally the league and teams like to let the legal situation play out a little before stepping in with suspensions or other measures.
