The Bulls will name Fred Hoiberg their next head coach on Tuesday afternoon, and his deal is a big one, according to Yahoo’s Adrian Wojnarowski:

Chicago Bulls coach Fred Hoiberg is signing a 5-year deal worth nearly $25M, league sources tell Yahoo Sports.

This is about in line with the deals that other first-time coaches have gotten in recent years. Steve Kerr and Derek Fisher got five-year, $25 million deals with the Warriors and Knicks, respectively, and Billy Donovan signed a five-year, $30 million contract with the Thunder in April. Hoiberg’s salary at Iowa State had been around $2.6 million, and his Bulls deal is almost double that.
