It may not end up being the biggest trade to go down in New York in the next 24 hours, but this is still a good signing for the Knicks.
Marcus Camby is back with the Knicks.
New York has reached a deal with Houston to bring in Marcus Camby as part of a sign-and-trade deal reports Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports and the NBC Sports Network.
The Rockets get Toney Douglas, Josh Harrellson, Jerome Jordan and second round picks in 2014 and 2015 Woj reports. As for Camby’s deal:
Camby will be 40 when this contract expires, if he plays it out. He will be the backup to Tyson Chandler and provide real depth up front. Camby played before with the Knicks from 1998 through 2002.
Camby still contributes at 37 — he is a good shot blocker and big who can defensively control the paint. On the other end he has a great midrange shot, he is still very good on the pick-and-pop and can score around the basket. He had a PER of 16.2 last season, above the league average.
