According to Chad Ford of ESPN.com, John Salmons and the Milwaukee Bucks have agreed on a five-year, $39 million contract extension. After being traded to the Bucks at mid-season, Salmons averaged 19.9 points per game for the Bucks and was a big reason the Bucks were able to make the playoffs.
The Bucks have been one of the most active teams throughout this off-season, having already added Chris Douglas-Roberts, Corey Maggette, and Drew Gooden. With Salmons re-signed, the Bucks now have 11 of their 12 roster spots filled. The Bucks should be a tough early-round opponent if all goes right for them this season; if they turn Michael Redd’s massive expiring contract into something useful before next season, they could become legitimate contenders in the Eastern Conference.
