Quentin Grimes accounted for 31 points (11-of-22 FGs, 8-of-8 FTs), three rebounds, two assists, three steals, one block and one three-pointer in Sunday’s win over the Trail Blazers.
Injuries have thrust Grimes into a prominent role within the 76ers’ rotation, and he’s taken advantage more often than not. Since scoring two points in his first start on March 3, the 76ers guard has reached double figures in seven straight, surpassing 20 points in four. Sundays’ performance was the best of the bunch for Grimes, who finished with a season-high 31. With Tyrese Maxey (finger) unlikely to help fantasy managers again this season, Grimes is a must-add in 12-team leagues.
  • PHI Guard #5
Quentin Grimes had 28 points (10-of-22 FGs, 7-of-7 FTs), eight rebounds, four assists, one steal and one three-pointer in the 76ers’ 104-97 victory over the Nets on Saturday.
With the 76ers dealing with a litany of injuries, Grimes continues to start and see heavy usage. The 25-year-old shooting guard took over the game Saturday against the Nets, dropping 28 points on 22 field goal attempts in the victory. Grimes should continue to excel in this role while Tyrese Maxey (pinky) is sidelined. The 76ers take on the Trail Blazers on Sunday in the second game of a back-to-back.
  • PHI Guard #5
Quentin Grimes lit up the Grizzlies with 22 points (6-of-16 FGs, 10-of-12 FTs), three rebounds, two assists and two steals on Tuesday.
This was a fifth straight start for Grimes, and while the first was rough, he has averaged 20.3 points over the last four while shooting 50 percent from the floor. He hasn’t offered much in other categories, but the 76ers will need his continued offensive production with Tyrese Maxey (pinky) set to miss at least three weeks. Grimes should continue to see a bump in minutes and scoring moving forward.
  • PHI Guard #77
VJ Edgecombe (back) is available for Tuesday’s game against the Grizzlies.
After a three-game absence, Edgecombe has been cleared to return on Tuesday. As a result, Cameron Payne or Quentin Grimes will head to the bench. Whether he starts or comes off the bench, Grimes offers a much higher fantasy ceiling than Payne. With 76ers head coach Nick Nurse saying that Edgecombe will get plenty of on-ball reps, Payne may be the odd man out of the starting lineup.
  • PHI Guard #77
VJ Edgecombe (back) is questionable for Tuesday’s matchup with the Grizzlies.
Edgecombe could return to action following a three-game absence, and his return would mean less minutes for Quentin Grimes and Jabari Walker. Fantasy managers should keep a close eye on Edgecombe’s status ahead of Tuesday’s tip-off.
  • PHI Guard #5
Quentin Grimes finished Monday’s loss to the Cavaliers with 17 points (6-of-13 FGs, 3-of-3 FTs), five rebounds, three assists and two three-pointers.
With no Tyrese Maxey, VJ Edgecombe or Joel Embiid, there was plenty of room for Grimes to put points on the board. The 17 points were a team-high, and fantasy managers can benefit from the rebounds, assists and three-pointers as well. With Maxey and Embiid ruled out for Tuesday’s game against the Grizzlies, Grimes will once again figure prominently in the 76ers’ offense in what should be a more fantasy-friendly matchup.
  • PHI Guard #20
Cameron Payne, Quentin Grimes, Kelly Oubre Jr., Dominick Barlow and Adem Bona will start Monday’s game against the Cavaliers.
Already without VJ Edgecombe, the 76ers won’t have Tyrese Maxey for at least the next two games. The All-Star guard has been replaced in the lineup by Payne, who’s worth streaming in deep leagues. However, Grimes should be the priority add for fantasy managers.
  • PHI Guard #77
VJ Edgecombe (back) was on the court for pregame shootaround ahead of Monday’s game against the Cavaliers.
While the rookie was on the court for Monday’s pregame session, 76ers head coach Nick Nurse did not divulge how active Edgecombe was. There’s hope that he’ll be able to return soon, but an exact timeline has not been provided. Quentin Grimes has moved into the starting lineup and should be rostered until Edgecombe and Tyrese Maxey (finger) return.
  • PHI Guard #77
VJ Edgecombe (back) is out for Monday’s matchup with the Cavaliers.
Edgecombe will miss a third straight game, and Quentin Grimes should continue to start in his place. Jabari Walker is also in line for an expanded role in Philadelphia’s rotation. Grimes and Walker are great pickups as Philadelphia has five games on the schedule for Week 20.
  • PHI Guard #77
VJ Edgecombe (back) is questionable for Monday’s game against the Cavaliers.
Edgecombe has missed Philadelphia’s last two games with a lumbar contusion. Quentin Grimes has filled in admirably as his replacement in the starting lineup and should be rostered, especially with Tyrese Maxey (finger) out for the next two games.
