The Lithuanian team that 2001 Spurs second-round draft pick Robertas Javtokas has played for the past five seasons is convinced Javtokas will be in the Spurs’ training camp this fall.
His Lithuanian team has signed a player to replace him, so you can look for the 6-11, 240-pound center to try to make the team this fall. The Spurs have a lot of question marks at center, so the time is right for Javtokas to make his move.

The Spurs are reportedly going to sign 6-foot-10 Lithuanian Robertas Javtokas, a former second-round draft pick, to be a backup center for the team.
It’s still unclear exactly who he’ll be backing up, as the Spurs are without a true center after trading Rasho Nesterovic and losing Nazr Mohammed to free agency. Javtokas is not considered a serious candidate to start for the Spurs. Utah’s Jarron Collins and Memphis’ Lorenzen Wright are probably the top remaining free-agent centers, but they’ll also take a look at Scot Pollard, Michael Olowokandi, Jake Voskuhl and Kelvin Cato, and restricted free agent Melvin Ely and Jackie Butler. They could also try to trade for Milwaukee’s Jamaal Magloire.
