Shannon Brown will continue to get starts for the Suns after Grant Hill (knee) underwent successful knee surgery on Friday.
Suns head coach Alvin Gentry said that “more than likely we’ll start Shannon [Brown]” and mentioned additional minutes to come for Josh Childress and Ronnie Price. Brown will be the player to own for the next few weeks. Hill is expected to be out until the last few games of the season, at the earliest.

Ronnie Price would like to re-sign with the Jazz.
“This is family. I’m a loyal guy and I don’t have any intentions of going anywhere else,” Price said. He probably wouldn’t cost much to retain if the Jazz expressed interest in retaining him, but there has been no indication of that yet.
  • PHX Point Guard #14
Ronnie Price has won the Suns’ backup PG job according to beat writer Paul Coro.
The backup to Steve Nash will always be worth monitoring given the Suns’ up-tempo offense, but it remains to be seen if Price would keep the job to himself in the event of an injury. Sebastian Telfair is now the team’s No. 3 PG.
  • PHX Point Guard #14
Ronnie Price started at point guard for a resting Steve Nash and had 10 points, six assists, two steals and a 3-pointer on 2-of-11 shooting.
Price has no fantasy value as long as Nash is healthy, and he is, sitting this one out just as precautionary rest.
  • NBA Head Coach #10
With the middle of a back-back-to-back game looming for the Suns, coach Alvin Gentry plans on resting Steve Nash and Grant Hill on Tuesday night.
Ronnie Price and Michael Redd will start for the Suns, and it sounds like Nash and Hill are out for tonight’s game. Tough break for owners, so get them out of your lineup if you have other options.
  • NBA Head Coach #10
Steve Nash (thigh) will be a game-time decision on Wednesday.
Nash did some exercise and shooting at practice, but he was limited to just that. He did say that he was feeling a lot better, and the Phoenix offense looked lost without him on the court on Monday, so the Suns are hoping that he’ll be back very shortly. Nash is averaging 14.3 points, 9.9 assists and 1.1 treys this year. Ronnie Price will likely start once again if Nash can’t suit up.
  • LAL Power Forward #88
Markieff Morris (flu) and Ronnie Price will start again on Friday against the Celtics, keeping Jared Dudley and Channing Frye in their bench role.
The Suns won with this lineup configuration on Wednesday and this is great news for owners that picked up Morris off the wire. He’ll have a chance to make his name tonight. Frye’s owners should simply hold on for now. He played fairly well and posted usable production in his last contest, and depending on how things go tonight we could see further changes. Price played 15 scoreless minutes in the last contest, and doesn’t project to play a lot. We’ll be watching to see if Shannon Brown can build off Wednesday’s effort, while Dudley’s owners should be in a holding pattern.
  • PHX Point Guard #14
Ronnie Price started at shooting guard for the Suns on Wednesday but failed to score in just 15 minutes.
Jared Dudley, whom he replaced, was also scoreless on 0-of-4 shooting in 17 minutes, while Shannon Brown had 14 points and two 3-pointers in 27 minutes. Price is undersized and a true point guard, so don’t be surprised if the Suns give Brown a shot at shooting guard if the Price experiment fails.
  • DEN Coaching Staff #10
Jared Dudley came off the bench for just 17 minutes and missed all four of his shots, failing to score on Wednesday.
He lost his starting job to Ronnie Price and given his recent struggles, along with the demotion, can be dropped at this point. Shannon Brown was by far the best shooting guard tonight, and could be ready to get his turn in the starting five, if the Price experiment officially fails (0 points, 15 minutes).
  • PHX Point Guard #14
Backup PGs Ronnie Price and Sebastian Telfair have battled to a draw so far for the Suns’ No. 2 PG slot.
Price offers better defense and athleticism while Telfair can do more offensive, particularly with the pick-and-roll. Telfair has been slowing down the offense, however, and if that continues we see Price winning the job.
