Celtics sign forward Ryan Gomes to three-year contract.
It’s believed to be worth around $2 million and he should contribute off the bench for the Celitcs this year. However, he’s not worth drafting in fantasy leagues.
  • BKN Small Forward #8
Ryan Gomes was seen at the Celtics’ practice facility on Monday working on his ball handling skills.
This is great news for the Celtics, as Gomes appears to be doing things the “right way,” to steal a line from Larry Brown.
  • MIA Coaching Staff #31
Caron Butler has been diagnosed with a fractured left hand, and his status going forward is unclear.
We have to assume that this will sideline Caron for a significant amount of time, unless it’s a very minor hairline fracture -- the fact that it was diagnosed so quickly via X-ray, however, is not encouraging. If Butler does miss games, the Clippers will be forced to turn to Bobby Simmons or Ryan Gomes, and/or to deploy Nick Young more at SF.
  • NBA Shooting Guard #1
The Clippers and Blazers are discussing a trade that would send Jamal Crawford to L.A. in exchange for Eric Bledsoe and Ryan Gomes, sources tell CBS’ Ken Berger.
Crawford, who was also linked to the Bobcats Monday, has suddenly become one of the hottest names ahead of Thursday’s trade deadline. He’d quickly squeeze the minutes of Randy Foye and Mo Williams in L.A. while giving the Clippers another veteran scorer to replace Chauncey Billups (knee). Bledsoe is an intriguing long-term point guard prospect that is currently buried on the Clippers’ depth chart.
  • DEN Point Guard #52
Mo Williams (thigh), Kenyon Martin (back) and Ryan Gomes (illness) are all expected to try to play through their issues on Monday night.
None of their injuries are serious, although Martin’s back could become a concern over the long haul.
  • BKN Small Forward #8
Ryan Gomes (illness) did not play on Monday against the Wolves.
Gomes is buried in the rotation and has no fantasy value.
  • BKN Small Forward #8
Ryan Gomes admitted that he’s in a “slump,” but is working hard to improve.
Gomes was realistic about his dip in minutes saying that he is just not playing well right now. Gomes said that he’s got to play with confidence rather than with a timid approach, but it’s probably hard for him to do that knowing he could be yanked off the floor if he makes a wrong decision. He’s averaging just 2.6 points on 33.7 percent shooting in 14 minutes per game.

Ryan Gomes (illness) played 30 seconds in Friday’s game.
We’ll pull him off the injury report, though we doubt anybody out there cares.
  • BKN Small Forward #8
Ryan Gomes will start for injured Caron Butler (knee) on Friday against the Wolves.
Gomes is only worth a spot-start if you’re desperate, as there is no real precedent for him being productive in his current role. The better play will be Mo Williams, as it’s possible the Clippers will match up with the Wolves smaller unit by playing a three-guard lineup including Williams, Randy Foye, and Chauncey Billups. A quicker pace is theoretically expected, but this is lockout basketball so who knows.
  • BKN Small Forward #8
Ryan Gomes played 14 minutes and had six points and four rebounds on 3-of-4 shooting.
He looks like a solid glue-guy for the Clippers, but isn’t likely to have fantasy value as long as Caron Butler and Blake Griffin are healthy.
