Rookie Tony Allen is seeing minutes in the fourth quarter for the Celtics.
Allen scored the Celtics’ first eight points in the last period Thursday in Portland. Then on Sunday in Seattle he scored nine of his 12 points in the final quarter. Since Allen can defend well and impress with his athleticism, his time and role should only increase.

Tony Allen (ankle) is questionable for Wednesday’s game, according to coach Doc Rivers.
If you own Ricky Davis but don’t normally start him, this might be a good week to do so.

Coach Doc Rivers said he doesn’t think Tony Allen will play Friday.
''He’s yet to run even, so I don’t know,’' Rivers said. ''I think him playing probably didn’t do any good things to that ankle.’' The Celtics certainly aren’t hurting with Ricky Davis right now.

The Tony Allen trial on battery charges scheduled to start Monday in Chicago has been continued.
Allen’s attorney, Michael Zaslavsk, said he expects to receive a new trial date Monday. The Celtics can only hope the legal proceedings do not interfere with training camp.

Tony Allen has an August 14 trial date stemming from a fight inside a Chicago restaurant last August 29.
Allen has been charged with punching and fracturing the left eye socket of Nigel Odum. A friend of Odum’s, Marktwain Johnson, was shot during the melee, though Allen is not a suspect in the shooting. This will hopefully be cleared up by the time training camp starts.

Tony Allen’s legal troubles may make it difficult for him to find a solid place in Boston’s rotation.
He’ll be dealing with his aggravated assault trial as training camp begins and Danny Ainge hints that it could cause him problems with the team as well. “Regardless of fines and team sanctions, there will be consequences for missing practices and missing time, and that will come in competing for a job,” he said. It doesn’t help that the Celtics are extremely deep in the backcourt, and this should end up being good news for Delonte West.

Tony Allen’s court date for a charge of aggravated battery has been pushed back due to an illness to the judge.
Allen was involved in a fight last August in a Chicago restaurant and now has an August 30 status hearing to determine a new court date. It appears that his trial will carry over into this season, meaning Allen will lose some focus while shuttling between Chicago and Boston. This is why the Celtics hedged on picking up his option in July.

The Celtics have picked up the options on all eligible players except for Tony Allen, who has a trial for aggravated battery on Aug. 14.
“Tony and (his agent, Mike Higgins) understand,” Danny Ainge said. “I told them two months ago what I was doing. They understand. It’ll all be resolved, and we’ll just move forward.” Ainge went on to say he wants to be 100% sure that Allen’s problems are resolved before committing to him.
