Cowboys requested an interview with Vikings DL coach Marcus Dixon for their potential defensive line coach vacancy.
Cowboys DL coach Aaron Whitecotton is “drawing interest” from the Titans as they search for a defensive coordinator under new head coach Robert Saleh. Rather than waiting to find out if Whitecotton leaves, the Cowboys are proactively starting their own search for his potential replacement. ESPN’s Todd Archer notes that Dixon coached the Broncos’ defensive line from 2022-2023, while new Cowboys DC Christian Parker coached Broncos defensive backs.

ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reports the Titans requested an interview with Cowboys DL coach Aaron Whitecotton for their defensive-coordinator vacancy.
Whitecotton also had an in-house interview with the Cowboys to fill their defensive coordinator vacancy, but it’s worth noting that the veteran coach has never served as a defensive coordinator. Whitecotton worked with the Jets under Robert Saleh in the past, so this interview with the now Saleh-led Titans shouldn’t come as much of a surprise.

Cowboys will interview Cowboys DL coach Aaron Whitecotton for their defensive coordinator vacancy.
Whitecotton, who came over from the Jets staff under Robert Saleh, was reportedly instrumental in the Quinnen Williams trade. It is not known how Whitecotton would call a room as he has no NFL defensive coordinator experience, however, he’s not Matt Eberflus, so he has that going for him.

Cowboys hired linebackers coach Dave Borgonzi, defensive line coach Aaron Whitecotton, and defensive pass-game coordinator Andre Curtis.
The Cowboys made hirings to their linebacker and defensive line groups, while adding a defensive passing game coordinator. Borgonzi worked under Eberflus as linebackers coach in Chicago, while Whitecotton was defensive line coach with the Jets for the past four seasons; both join the Cowboys in the same roles. Curtis was safeties coach under Eberflus with the Bears and now joins him in Dallas as passing game coordinator. Eberflus bolsters his defensive staff as head coach Brian Schottenheimer’s coaching group starts to take shape.

Cowboys hired Jets DL coach Aaron Whitecotton as their new DL coach.
Whitecotton has generally followed former Jets head coach Robert Saleh wherever he goes, coaching under Saleh with the Jets, 49ers and Jaguars. Whitecotton brings an exciting track record with him to Dallas. The Jets’ defensive line totaled 75.0 NFL sacks over the last two seasons; good for the eight-most in the NFL.
