Panthers signed DB Anthony Brown, formerly of the Cowboys.
Brown suffered a career-altering torn Achilles in 2022 and was released by both the Cowboys and 49ers before signing with the Panthers. He is likely to serve as a camp body as he pushes to make the team at the nickel corner position. The Panthers currently lack depth in the secondary behind starters Jaycee Horn, Xavier Woods, Jordan Fuller, and Dane Jackson, meaning the veteran could work his way into a backup role if he shows out in camp.
  • FA Cornerback #22
    49ers released DB Anthony Brown.
Brown was signed by the 49ers in mid-September after starting 69 games for the Cowboys. The veteran corner suffered a torn Achilles near the end of 2022, and appeared in two games for the 49ers during his brief time there. It’s possible he catches on with another team in need of secondary help, but he’s not much more than a depth signing at this point.
  • SF Cornerback #21
According to Adam Schefter, the 49ers signed CB Anthony Brown.
Brown played seven seasons in Dallas, starting 69 games for the Cowboys as both an outside and slot corner. He had four interceptions and 12 pass break-ups in 2021 and began the 2022 season as a starter but tore his Achilles in early December. He was on the Steelers’ practice squad until he was signed away by the 49ers and placed on their active roster. While it’s unclear if Brown is 100% back to his old self, his experience and versatility will be assets to San Francisco. As will his in-depth knowledge of the Cowboys’ defense.
  • CAR Cornerback #35
Cowboys CB Anthony Brown (Achilles) will miss the remainder of the season.
He ruptured the Achilles against the Colts last Sunday night. Kelvin Joseph will take over as one of Dallas’ main cornerbacks. Brown will be moved to injured reserve on Saturday and will be questionable for training camp in 2023. Brown will be a free agent in 2023 and it wouldn’t be surprising if he didn’t catch on until he proved he was healthy.

  • CAR Cornerback #35
Cowboys CB Anthony Brown (ankle) was carted to the locker room.
Brown appeared to injure his ankle on coverage of a two-point conversion late in the third quarter of Week 13 against the Colts. He was immediately ruled out for the remainder of the contest. Further updates are expected after the game.

  • DAL Cornerback #7
Cowboys CB Trevon Diggs (illness) will not play Week 18 against the Eagles.
Diggs is reportedly dealing with a non-COVID illness and did not make the trip to Philadelphia. Assuming that report is correct, the interception leader should be ready to go for the playoffs. Dallas will also be without CB Anthony Brown, who is on the reserve/COVID-19 list.

  • CAR Cornerback #35
Cowboys declared CB Anthony Brown, QB Ben DiNucci, WR Malik Turner, DB Reggie Robinson, DE Bradlee Anae, OT Greg Senat, and DE Ron’Dell Carter inactive for Week 12 against Washington.
No surprises here. Rashard Robinson could potentially move into the starting lineup without Brown and Robinson available in nickel packages.

  • CAR Cornerback #35
Cowboys CB Anthony Brown (ribs) is not expected to play in Week 12 against Washington.
Brown, Dallas’ No. 2 corner across from rookie Trevon Diggs (foot, week-to-week), had just been rounding into form after coming off injured reserve in Week 8. CB Rashard Robinson was called up from the practice squad (and allowed a touchdown) against the Vikings and will presumably play a significant role on Thursday. Fantasy players should consider Alex Smith a viable 2-QB and SuperFlex streamer for that one.

  • CAR Cornerback #35
Cowboys placed CB Anthony Brown (ribs) on injured reserve.
This is awful news for one of the Cowboys’ starting corners, as Brown played 73 snaps in the loss to the Rams. It is easily the thinnest position on the team’s roster and is vital in slowing down the Falcons on Sunday. Brown will be sidelined for at least the next three games.

  • CAR Cornerback #35
Cowboys re-signed CB Anthony Brown to a three-year, $15.5 million contract.
Brown lost starting slot duties last season then suffered a torn triceps. The Cowboys still regarded him highly enough as a reserve to hand out a multi-year deal. Brown has made 33 starts since 2016 and is still only 26 years old.
