Bills waived LB Baylon Spector (calf) with an injury settlement.
Spector dealt with injuries in both calves this year. It’s a tough break for a player coming off a season in which he played a career-high 291 defensive snaps. Spector will likely be invited to try out for backup linebacker/special teams roles once he is in good health.

Bills placed LB Baylon Spector on injured reserve with a calf injury.
Spector has now injured both calves in 2025. A right calf injury landed him on injured reserve last season and he will now miss this side after injuring his left calf. Spector set career highs in tackles (27), quarterback pressures (two) and sacks (one) last year.
  • BUF Linebacker #54
Bills LB Baylon Spector (calf) is questionable for the AFC Championship Game against the Chiefs.
Spector most recently played in Week 16 and technically remains on injured reserve. The backup run-defender provides helpful depth but should not be considered a needle-mover.
  • BUF Linebacker #54
Bills opened LB Baylon Spector’s 21-day practice window to return from injured reserve.
Spector landed on injured reserve with a calf injury towards the end of the season. He started four games in place of Matt Milano and is now headed to a potential return with the AFC Championship game on the horizon. If Spector is indeed activated, expect him to play a reserve or special teams role. Milano (hamstring) was limited in the Bills’ Wednesday practice, but expect him to start with Spector playing behind him on Sunday.
  • BUF Linebacker #54
Bills LB Baylon Spector (calf) is doubtful to return in Week 16 against the Patriots.
The Bills’ centerfield defense is worryingly thing with both starting safeties, Taylor Rapp and Damar Hamlin, sidelined, along with LB Matt Milano. Hopefully, Spector will not sidelined for an extended time period.

Bills selected Clemson LB Baylon Spector with the No. 231 overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft.
Spector (6'0"/233) is not the biggest guy, but his athletic testing numbers were quite good, ranking above the 70th percentile in the broad jump, vertical jump, and 40-yard dash. He doesn’t always play like that, though. He has good instincts and fundamentals, reading the play well and getting into the right position, but sometimes lacks the fire to go out and make a play downhill. His well below-average length also lets him down when attempting to shed blocks, and he’s a bit lean and lacks great strength. Spector has the physical tools to make it in the NFL, he just needs to fully unlock them and trust himself to make plays around the field instead of letting the play come to him. If he can do that, he can stick around as a chasing off-ball linebacker.
