Bills signed California S Brett Johnson.
A star at the Bears’ Pro Day (4.30 forty, 10'9" broad jump, 42.6" vertical), Johnson was less so on the field. He started 22 games in college, picking off just three passes with 0.5 forced fumbles in 49 career games. Johnson will have a tough time breaking into the Bills’ highly talented secondary.
  • LA Wide Receiver
Rams waived WR Jordan Kent, C Tim Mattran, S Brett Johnson, and TE Darcy Johnson.
Kent showed well on special teams in camp, but his lack of offensive value for a team so short on true wide receivers cost him a spot. The Rams would probably like to keep Kent on the practice squad. Darcy Johnson, a former Giant, was outplayed by Billy Bajema and late-round rookies in camp.
  • CLE Defensive Back
Rams signed S Brett Johnson, formerly of the Eagles.
Johnson has some experience in a Steve Spagnuolo-like scheme, having spent a few days with the Birds in OTAs. He’s a practice squad candidate.
  • CLE Defensive Back
    Bills waived S Brett Johnson.
An intriguing athlete, Johnson lacked the football skills to make a Bills team that’s very deep at safety. He would be a good practice squad pickup.
  • CLE Defensive Back
Eagles claimed S Brett Johnson off waivers from the Bills.
Johnson is worth a look because he’s a freakish athlete, but he’ll be a big long shot for a roster spot in Philly, even after Marlin Jackson’s injury.

    Browns waived S Brett Johnson.
Undrafted out of California last year, Johnson was claimed off waivers from the Seahawks two weeks ago. Also waived by the Browns today were WR Johnathan Haggerty, WR Juan Nunez, K Jeff Wolfert, DL Kyle Anderson, DL Jabari Fletcher, DB Darian Hagan and QB Troy Weatherhead.

Johnson recorded a 4.3-flat forty, 10-foot-9 long jump, and 42.6-inch vertical at the Cal Bears’ 2010 Pro Day. Unfortunately, he’s not much of a football player.
