Steelers hired South Carolina WR coach Bryan McClendon to the same position.
McClendon has also served as the interim head coach at Georgia and the co-offensive coordinator for a season at South Carolina. At 36 years old, McClendon will be one of the youngest members of the Pittsburgh staff. He had a close relationship with former Pittsburgh receivers coach Darryl Drake, who passed away during training camp. McClendon will coach a talented group of young wideouts in Juju Smith-Schuster. James Washington, and Diontae Johnson. Smith-Schuster posted a career-low 552 receiving yards in 2019 while dealing with multiple injuries.
