Jaguars selected Wyoming LB Chad Muma with the No. 70 overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft.
A two-year starter, Muma (6’3/237) ranked No. 2 in the FBS with 142 tackles en route to third-team All-American honors last year. He’s a sideline-to-sideline, form tackler who averaged 11.2 tackles per game as a starter while missing only 8% of his career attempts. He’s active and instinctual in coverage, picking off three balls last year while getting his hands on another three. Thin-legged and not adept at hand-fighting in close-quarters, Muma can get stuck on blocks – he’ll play best behind space occupiers. Muma may not ever offer much as a blitzer, but his plus-plus run defense and sticky coverage skills should play immediately at the NFL level.

Wyoming LB Chad Muma had official top-30 visits with the Broncos, Panthers and Jaguars.
Muma (6'3"/242) is one of the most athletic players in the draft, and was also incredibly productive on the ground (142 total tackles) and in the air, allowing just one touchdown in coverage in his career and pulling in three interceptions. In fact, he scored more touchdowns against QBs than he allowed. Muma could be one of the best values on Day 2, and it’s surprising that more teams didn’t want to meet with him. The Jaguars and Broncos top rated linebackers were 46thand 35th respectively, so they could really use help in that department.

Sports Illustrated’s Kevin Tame reports the Atlanta Falcons held a virtual meeting with Wyoming LB Chad Muma.
The Falcons enter the 2022 season looking at a full rebuild. Perhaps one of the more underwhelming rosters in the league, Atlanta pursuing Muma (6'3/242) on Day 2 would add a boost to linebacking corps that was amongst the worst in the league last season. Muma has wowed scouts and analysts this draft season, and is one of the most athletic LB prospects in the class.

According to Pro Football Focus, Wyoming LB Chad Muma has allowed just one touchdown in coverage in his entire career.
Muma hasn’t gotten much buzz going into this draft but he tested well including a 40-inch vertical that should pique a team’s interest. He’s a strong individual with athleticism as he has a fluid motion through coverage. He allowed just one touchdown in coverage in his entire career and that’s something to take notice of. He’s also a playmaker with three INTs including two pick-sixes. He’s should be an interesting prospect to look for on Day 2.

Wyoming LB Chad Muma will meet with the Denver Broncos next week.
Muma (6'3"/242) is incredibly athletic, posting a 40-inch vertical, and 10'9" broad and running a 4.63 40 at 242 pounds. He was a third-team All-American last year, racking up a ridiculous 142 total tackles and also recording three interceptions. He’s got production, accolades and great athletic testing, so it makes sense he’s rising up draft boards and meeting with teams.

Wyoming LB Chad Muma posts a 40-inch vertical at the combine.
That’s in the 94th percentile. Muma (6'3"/242) isn’t a guy that’s gotten a lot of draft buzz, but posting that type of vertical will get your name out there. Muma jumped a 10'9" broad, benched 27 reps and ran a 4.66 40-yard dash. He’s extremely athletic and is really helping his draft stock here.
