Robbie Chosen caught 4-of-4 targets for 36 yards in the Commanders’ Week 7 loss to the Cowboys.
Are we so bereft of ideas that we need to bring back the antiquated notion of Robbie Chosen? Kliff Kingsbury said yes. Chosen only played 33 snaps to Luke McCaffrey’s 36, but out-targeted the second-year receiver by two as McCaffrey bageled. Even if Deebo Samuel and Terry McLaurin are both out again in Week 8, it’d be hard to recommend Chosen in fantasy leagues.
  • WAS Wide Receiver #7
Commanders signed WR Robbie Chosen, formerly of the 49ers.
The well-traveled journeyman will join the Washington practice squad ahead of Week 5. The Commanders are dealing with a spate of receiver injuries, including Terry McLaurin (quad) and Noah Brown (knee, groin). Chosen would only play a rotational role if he’s active for Week 5. He should remain on waiver wires.
  • FA Wide Receiver #3
    49ers released WR Robbie Chosen.
Chosen caught 9-of-12 targets for 117 yards this preseason, but he did not crack the roster in a banged-up 49ers wide receiver room. He appeared in just two games for the Dolphins last year and could catch on as practice squad depth. The 49ers also released OL Michael Dunn, WR Russell Gage Jr., DL Jonathan Garvin, DL Trevis Gipson, DL Bruce Hector, WR Isaiah Hodgins, CB Fabian Moreau, P Thomas Morstead, LB Curtis Robinson, LB Chazz Surratt, and WR Malik Turner. They waived WR Junior Bergen, LB Stone Blanton, DL William Bradley-King, DB Derrick Canteen, CB Dallis Flowers, LB Jalen Graham, S Jaylen Mahoney, OL Drake Nugent, WR Terique Owens, DL Sebastian Valdez, TE Brayden Willis and OL Nick Zakelj.
  • SF Wide Receiver
49ers signed WR Robbie Chosen, formerly of the Dolphins, to a contract.
The 49ers chose him because of their positional availability concerns. Brandon Aiyuk (knee), Jauan Jennings (calf) and Jacob Cowing (hamstring) are all on the mend. Chosen caught 1-of-4 targets for five yards with the Dolphins last season. He is not fantasy-relevant in 2025. The team released WR Marquez Callaway in a corresponding move.
  • MIA Wide Receiver #84
NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reports the Dolphins have released Robbie Chosen from the practice squad.
For the first time since 2022, Chosen will find himself looking for a new team. In Week 2 against the Bills, he failed to find any chemistry with Tua Tagovailoa and looked out of sync with the offense. He ends his Dolphins tenure with 5-131-1 receiving line across two seasons.
  • MIA Wide Receiver #7
Dolphins signed WR Robbie Chosen, formerly of the 49ers.
Chosen spent last season with the Dolphins, appearing in nine games while posting a 4-126-1 line on six targets. Chosen can be claimed by another team as an addition to their 53-man roster at any time, but the speedster appears unlikely to make much of a real and/or fantasy impact this season.
  • FA Wide Receiver #7
    49ers released WR Robbie Chosen.
Chosen wasn’t expected to be long for the 49ers’ roster after signing with the team a few weeks into camp. The injury to Ricky Pearsall played a role in the team signing Chosen, while Pearsall’s return likely led to his release. Chosen caught four passes for 126 yards and a touchdown last season and could end up on the 49ers’ practice squad if another suitor doesn’t come calling.
  • SF Wide Receiver #3
49ers signed WR Robbie Chosen, formerly of the Dolphins.
Chosen joins a wide receiver corps that is somewhat in flux. Brandon Aiyuk’s future with the team is currently up in the air while he and the team explore trade options, and rookie Ricky Pearsall left practice earlier this week with a shoulder injury. Chosen caught four passes for 126 yards and one touchdown for the Dolphins last season and is far from a lock to make the team’s 53-man roster. Still, the 31-year-old speedster provides a veteran presence to an offense that could be in need of some help at receiver.
  • Wide Receiver #3
NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reports free agent WR Robbie Chosen will participate in the Seahawks minicamp on a tryout basis this week.
Chosen caught four passes for 126 yards and one touchdown last season while with the Dolphins. The 31-year-old speedster has totaled just 77 catches for 927 yards and seven touchdowns over the last three years after breaking out for 95-1,096-3 with the Panthers back in 2020. He’s struggled to find his footing on a roster as of late but could serve as an additional field stretcher for the Seahawks behind DK Metcalf.
  • MIA Wide Receiver #3
Dolphins WR Robbie Chosen (concussion) did not practice on Wednesday.
Chosen hasn’t been on the fantasy radar for much of the season, but with Jaylen Waddle dealing with a high ankle sprain, he could be in line for a bigger role on Sunday. However, Chosen is now going through his own injury recovery. “We’re still in the process of the protocol with Chosen,” said head coach Mike McDaniel “But he’s responded well, and so he’s checked the boxes so far that are available to him.” Chosen is “not at that stage” that he’s able to practice yet, “but he’ll be around and you know, might be able to do some walkthrough participation and things of that nature. He’s progressing.”
