A fourth-round pick out of Wyoming, Prosinski had just cracked the Jaguars’ starting lineup, replacing Dwight Lowery (shoulder) at free safety in Week 14. Prosinski shouldn’t have trouble making the roster in 2012.

Dwight Lowery (ankle) is out. Prosinski gets the nod ahead of Chris Harris, who was just signed off the street on Monday. In one start last season, Prosinski posted four tackles and one pass breakup.

Prosinski is almost certainly concussed, and should be considered week to week.

Prosinski stays in Chicago to play special teams.

Prosinski lost out to Ed Reynolds for the Eagles’ No. 3 safety job.

He was among the Eagles’ final cuts in training camp. The Bears cleared a roster spot for him by cutting Brock Vereen. Prosinski is mostly a special teams contributor.

Prosinski spent last summer with the Eagles, but was among their final cuts and latched on with the Bears. He’s strictly a special teamer who covers kicks.

Prosinksi, 27, appeared in 45 games for the Jaguars from 2011-2013 before getting cut after three games this season. The former fourth-round pick out of Wyoming will pitch in on special teams, but can play defense in a pinch.

The reserve safety/special teamer went down in Sunday’s loss to the Colts. He’ll revert to injured reserve if/when he clears waivers. A 2011 fourth-rounder, Prosinski is in the final year of his rookie contract.

A three-year starter, Prosinski racked up an impressive 140 tackles as a senior. However, that number was due largely to his ability as a run stopper, and he is not viewed as a legitimate ball-hawking safety at the NFL level. More than likely, he’ll be limited to special teams duty for the Jaguars in 2011.
