Colts promoted LB Jerry Brown and DE Clifton Geathers from the practice squad.
A second-year undrafted free agent out of Illinois, this will be Brown’s first go-round on an active roster. A sixth-round pick in 2010, Geathers appeared in five games for the Cowboys last season. Both players will likely be limited to special-teams duty.
  • Defensive Lineman
Eagles acquired DE Clifton Geathers from the Colts in exchange for FB Stanley Havili.
A mountain at 6-foot-7 and 320 pounds, Geathers has the height and size 3-4 teams want at defensive end. The 2010 sixth-round pick has appeared in just 15 career games, notching five tackles and one sack. Geathers has bounced around the league, spending time with the Browns, Seahawks, Cowboys, and Colts. The 25-year-old will compete for a roster spot in Eagles training camp.
  • Defensive Lineman
Redskins agreed to terms with DL Clifton Geathers, formerly of the Eagles.
Geathers appeared in all 16 games last season, making one start. He played 254 snaps, generating no pass rush. Geathers is a mountainous 6-foot-7 and 320 pounds, but has only one career sack. He’ll be “just a guy” for the Redskins.
  • Defensive Lineman
Steelers re-signed DE Clifton Geathers to a one-year contract.
Geathers was signed in December but played zero snaps for Pittsburgh. He’ll compete for a backup job behind starters Cam Heyward and Stephon Tuitt.
  • Defensive Lineman
    Redskins released DE Clifton Geathers.
Geathers recorded six tackles and zero sacks in 93 snaps for Washington this season.
  • Defensive Lineman
South Carolina DL Clifton Geathers’ arms measured in at 36 3/4 inches at the Gamecocks’ Pro Day.
Geathers, who stood on his 4.96 forty time, also has whopping 11 1/8-inch hands -- bigger than Alabama man child Terrence Cody’s. A college underachiever, Geathers will be viewed as an extremely high-upside project, likely by 3-4 teams as a defensive end. He’s a middle-round prospect.
  • Defensive Lineman
Dolphins signed DL Clifton Geathers from the practice squad.
First-round pick DL Jared Odrick (foot, fibula) was recently placed on injured reserve after missing all but Week 1. The Dolphins used the available roster spot to replace Odrick on their front seven, and their 16th-ranked run defense has a daunting matchup Week 7 when the Steelers come to town.
  • Defensive Lineman
Cowboys claimed DE Clifton Geathers off waivers from the Seahawks.
A potential-ridden sixth-round pick in April, Geathers has now bounced to his fourth team in under a year. He’ll be a deep reserve for the Cowboys.
  • Defensive Lineman
    Seahawks waived DE Clifton Geathers.
Geathers was a game-day inactive for both games since he was claimed off waivers from the Dolphins.
  • FA Running Back
Cowboys declared RB Marion Barber, DL Clifton Geathers, OT Jermey Parnell, LB Kenwin Cummings, OL Phil Costa, OL Sam Young, QB Tony Romo, LB Victor Butler inactive for Week 14.
Tashard Choice is expected to handle the majority of touches in Dallas’ backfield. John Kitna will start under center, as Tony Romo isn’t expected back until Week 16 at the earliest. Geathers was just claimed off of waivers from Seattle last week, and is still learning the Cowboys’ playbook.
