Jaguars declared S Kahlef Hailassie, RB Cody Schrader, LB Yasir Abdullah, OL Robert Hainsey, and DT Khalen Saunders Sr. inactive for Week 6 against the Seahawks.
The Jags are largely healthy heading into Week 6. Abdullah and Hainsey were the only players with injury designations heading into the weekend and both are out versus the Seahawks.
  • JAC Running Back #32
Jaguars signed RB Cody Schrader off the Rams practice squad.
It’s hard to believe that Schrader could be a major part of the mix behind Travis Etienne and Bhayshul Tuten right away in the same way that Tank Bigsby hypothetically could, but it’s a great landing spot overall for the former Ram. Schrader was active in Week 1 ahead of Jarquez Hunter, though he played no offensive snaps.
  • LA Running Back #32
Rams elevated RB Cody Schrader from the practice squad.
It’s an interesting development considering we rarely see Sean McVay teams hold four active backs on game day, a potential hint that the team could be primed to make rookie Jarquez Hunter a healthy inactive for the team’s Week 1 contest against the Texans. Schrader enters his second year in the league and was active on two occasions late last season.
  • LA Running Back #22
Speaking on The Coach McVay Show, Rams head coach Sean McVay said “I’m excited about watching Blake Corum get a heavy workload.”
The Rams will sit several starters in Sunday’s season finale against the Seahawks, and Corum was the first name mentioned when he was asked about players he’s looking forward to seeing in larger roles come game time. Corum has run the ball just 56 times for 197 scoreless yards in his rookie campaign, but he sounds like a lock for double-digit touches against a Seahawks defense that’s allowed the 15th-most fantasy points per game (23.1) to opposing running backs over the last five weeks. McVay also mentioned that he’d like to get a longer look at rookie Cody Schrader, but Corum sounds like a potential Week 18/DFS smash for those grinding through the final week of the regular season.
  • LA Wide Receiver #15
Demarcus Robinson (shoulder) is active for Week 15 against the Rams.
Robinson missed the first two practices of the week and got in a limited session Wednesday. The 30-year-old is a risky FLEX play for Thursday night’s contest against San Francisco where the reward doesn’t outweigh said risk. The Rams inactives for Week 15 are QB Stetson Bennett, CB Cobie Durant, RB Cody Schrader, OLB Brennan Jackson, OL Dylan McMahon, and OL Warren McClendon Jr.
  • LA Wide Receiver #10
Rams declared WR Cooper Kupp, QB Stetson Bennett, RB Cody Schrader, LB Brennan Jackson, T Geron Christian Sr. and TE Davis Allen inactive for Week 3 against the 49ers.
Kupp’s absence was expected, given his projected multi-week recovery timeline. The Athletic’s Jourdan Rodrigue notes “Jimmy [Garoppolo] back in the backup spot at QB after his two-game suspension.” The Rams are exceptionally short-staffed with Puka Nacua also on injured reserve. They will likely try to eke out a win through a run-heavy offensive attack.
  • LA Running Back #38
Rams claimed RB Cody Schrader off waivers from the 49ers.
Shrader was a star for the University of Missouri in his final year, but went unselected and signed with the 49ers shortly after the draft. The 5-foot-8, 202-pound tailback will provide depth and could compete with Ronnie Rivers for the third tailback spot; but most likely contributes on special teams.
  • SF Running Back
49ers signed Missouri RB Cody Schrader.
A Division II transfer from Truman State, Schrader (5’9/202) arrived at Mizzou as a 2022 walk-on and proceeded to earn No. 1 back status with tough, one-cut running. After a 745-yard inaugural SEC campaign, he exploded for 276/1,627/14 in 2023, frequently putting the Tigers’ offense on his back and flirting with Heisman finalist status as he was named a first-team All American. Schrader exceeded 20 carries eight times last season, including each of his final seven appearances. He had nine 100-yard rushing performances, including 200-yard explosions vs. Arkansas and Tennessee. Limited by 4.61 speed, Schrader compensates with elite instincts and getting skinny through the hole despite his bulked-up frame. He finishes runs with authority. The kind of “volume back” that is out of vogue in the modern NFL, Schrader does offer plus pass-protecting and potential receiving upside despite limited side-to-side agility.
