Packers signed P Daniel Whelan to a contract extension.
Whelan has punted for the Packers in each of the last two years and, though terms weren’t released, we imagine this extension probably covers his remaining year of restricted free agency in 2026 and one or two more. Between extending their punter and long snapper this offseason, the Packers also somehow found time to trade for Micah Parsons. Wonders never cease.
  • GB Wide Receiver #80
Packers signed WR Bo Melton, RB Emanuel Wilson and P Daniel Whelan to their exclusive rights free agent tenders.
Melton caught on with the Packers in 2023, totaling 16 receptions for 218 yards and a touchdown in five games. He added eight receptions for 91 yards in 17 games last season. Melton will continue to be a depth piece in an already-deep Packers wide receiver room. Wilson has also been with the Packers for two seasons and rushed for 502 yards and four touchdowns as Josh Jacobs’ immediate backup last season. He will compete with MarShawn Lloyd for that role again. Whelan is the team’s punter and will be back for 2025. All three signed their exclusive rights free agent tender and will essentially be on one-year contracts this season.
  • GB Running Back #31
Packers signed RB Emanuel Wilson to a one-year contract.
Wilson was an exclusive rights free agent, meaning he was never at real risk of going anywhere else unless the Packers opted not to bring him back. Wilson has rushed 14 times for 85 scoreless yards in his career and will need to battle to make the 53-man roster this offseason. In additional to Wilson, the Packers also signed punter Daniel Whelan to his ERFA contract.
  • FA Punter #16
    Packers waived P Pat O’Donnell.
O’Donnell signed a one-year deal with the Packers this offseason after the Bears opted to let him walk. A veteran punter with nine years of NFL experience, we wouldn’t expect him to be on the open market for long. He lost the job to form XFL punter Daniel Whelan, who signed with the team earlier this offseason.
