Commanders EDGE Daniel Wise (ankle) is out for Week 3 against the Eagles.
Wise played nine snaps against Detroit last week before leaving with the injury. Washington’s line depth will be tested a bit against Philadelphia. Wise didn’t practice in any day this week.

    Commanders re-signed DL Daniel Wise.
Wise played in six games for Washington -- starting one game -- in 2021. He entered the league with the Cowboys in 2019 after being a four-year starter at the University of Kansas. He’s a long shot to make the final Commanders roster.

  • Commanders re-signed C Keith Ismael to a one-year contract.
The team now known as the Commanders has also tendered ERFAs DE Bunmi Rotimi and DT Daniel Wise. C Jon Toth was non-tendered. We will treat these as re-signings since the players have no other option, unless they feel like retiring. A 2020 fifth-round pick who was waived and made his way back onto the 53-man roster, Ismael started five games in 2021. Ismael did not embarrass himself. He also did not have the looks of a long-term starter. He does have youth on his side, as he does not turn 24 until July.

Washington activated WR Cam Sims from the reserve/COVID-19 list.
Washington also activated defensive end Daniel Wise. Neither player moves the needle much but their returns should point toward more Washington players being activated ahead of the team’s Week 15 matchup with the Eagles. The game was moved to Tuesday after a slew of Washington players tested positive for COVID-19. All eyes are on Taylor Heinicke and Kyle Allen, who are both currently on the COVID list.

Cowboys signed Kansas DT Daniel Wise.
Wise (6’3/281) was a four-year starter on KU’s defensive line, seeing action at end and tackle and graduating with 44 career tackles for loss and 18.5 sacks and earning first-team All-Big 12 as both a junior and senior. Wise was exposed as a sub-par athlete at the Combine, however, testing as a 20th-percentile athlete with a molasses-slow 5.27 forty and 27 ½-inch vertical. A college overachiever with questionable NFL traits, Wise’s ceiling is likely a rotational gap shooter on passing downs.
