The Ravens are converting former tackle David Hale to center.
At 6'6/315, he’ll be one lanky backup snapper. Hale, last year’s fourth-round pick, is working with the second team behind Matt Birk.

Ravens signed fourth-round OT David Hale of Weber State to a three-year, $1.444 million contract.
The deal includes a $294,000 signing bonus. Hale, who is 6'6/308, was not projected to be more than a late-round pick to undrafted free agent, but the Ravens liked him more than most. He’s not a candidate to start this year.
  • Ravens GM Ozzie Newsome reiterated at the team’s post-draft press conference that he has not heard from Jonathan Ogden recently.
Baltimore drafted right tackle prospects Oniel Cousins and David Hale. The picks likely indicate that if Ogden retires, Jared Gaither and 2007 RT Adam Terry will battle on the blind side. The team is open to taking Ogden back.

Ravens waived C/G David Hale and G/T Stefan Rodgers.
Both players were on IR, but the Ravens have reached injury settlements with the two linemen and cut them loose.

Ravens placed OL David Hale (bruised tailbone) on injured reserve, ending his season.
Hale is a former fourth-round offensive tackle that was moved to center. Matt Birk continues to hold down that spot well for the Ravens.
