49ers declared CB Deommodore Lenoir (calf) active for Week 11 against the Cardinals.
Lenoir entered the weekend with a questionable tag due to a calf injury. He suffered the injury in Thursday’s practice but is active after experiencing some tightness. The 49ers declared RB Jordan James, WR Jordan Watkins, OL Connor Colby, DL Clelin Ferrell, DL Kevin Givens, and CB Eli Apple inactive for Week 11 against the Cardinals.
  • SF Defensive Back #2
49ers declared QB Brock Purdy (toe), WR Ricky Pearsall (knee), DE Bryce Huff (hamstring), C Jake Brendel (hamstring), DL Yetur Gross-Matos (hamstring), DT CJ West and RB Jordan James inactive for San Francisco’s Week 8 game against the Texans.
All five players with injuries were ruled out on Friday. Deommodore Lenoir (quad) and Luke Gifford (hamstring) are playing on questionable tags. James and West are healthy scratches.
  • SF Defensive Back #2
49ers CB Deommodore Lenoir (hip) participated in team drills on Tuesday.
It seems like Lenoir has been able to shake the hip irritation that was bothering him earlier in training camp. The veteran should be considered healthy as things stand heading into the preseason games.
  • SF Defensive Back #2
49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan told reporters that CB Deommodore Lenoir (hip irritation) will be sidelined for at least two more practices.
Both of the 49ers’ starting perimeter cornerbacks are now injured. Fellow starter, CB Renardo Green, is “aiming” to return for the 49ers’ second preseason game as he rehabs a hamstring strain suffered last Sunday.
  • SF Cornerback #2
49ers CB Deommodore Lenoir was arrested on Thursday night and released on Friday morning.
The cause for the arrest varies between sources. Members of the Los Angeles Police Department reportedly stopped a group of people, which included Lenoir, and observed a visible firearm located inside a parked car. The reason for the initial stop is unclear. Officers asked for the car keys, at which point an unidentified individual passed them to Lenoir, who passed them to another individual shortly after that, apparently rejecting the officers’ request. Lenoir was then arrested and booked before being released.
  • SF Defensive End #97
49ers ruled out Nick Bosa (hip/obliques) for Week 13 against the Bills.
Bosa’s dual-oblique/hip injury will sideline him again and the defensive line will also notably be without starting DT Jordan Elliott (concussion), leaving the 49ers defensive-right side of the field awfully short-staffed. Josh Allen’s blindside should be kept clean and the run game will likely be able to impose its will easily, running off of left tackle Dion Dawkins. CB Deommodore Lenoir (knee) is out though CB Charvarius Ward (personal) will return after a three-game absence.
  • SF Tackle #77
49ers G Dominick Puni (shoulder) is undergoing an MRI on Monday.
The rookie guard played every snap in Week 12’s loss to the Packers, but apparently something popped up. He’d be a huge loss for the 49ers. Deommodore Lenoir (knee) is also getting an MRI for the 49ers after playing 93 percent of the snaps. This team just can’t buy a health-based break this year.
  • SF Cornerback #2
49ers CB Deommodore Lenoir exited Week 12 against the Packers with an apparent leg injury.
Lenoir appeared to bang knees with one of the Packers’ offensive players. Trainers tended to him for a moment on-field before eventually escorting Lenoir to the sideline. We tentatively expect Lenoir to return.
  • SF Cornerback #2
49ers signed CB Deommodore Lenoir to a five-year, $92 million extension.
The 49ers are re-signing one of their starting cornerbacks, giving Lenoir a five-year deal through 2029. The 25-year-old was originally a fifth-round pick and in the midst of a contract year. He started every game for the 49ers over each of the last two seasons, snagging five interceptions and logging 16 passes defended over 26 games in that time. Lenoir is one of the 49ers’ best defensive players and the team locks him up before he hit the open market.
  • SF Defensive Back #2
49ers selected Oregon CB Deommodore Lenoir with the No. 172 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.
Lenoir (5'10/199) finished his Ducks career as a three-year starter and four-year contributor with second-team PAC-12 honors in each of his final two seasons. His box score production over his final three campaigns was modest, with five interceptions and 16 passes defended. Athletically, Lenoir is uninspiring aside from his decent 4.44 40-yard dash. Lenoir came in below the 40th-percentile in every other drill (save for the bench press). In Oregon’s defense, Lenoir was asked to do a bit of everything but looked most comfortable playing from off alignments where he could read routes and rely on his film study and quick feet rather than his athletic tools in man coverage. That said, Lenoir does have long arms and some ability as a press cornerback. Lenoir could carve out a Troy Hill-type career arc.
