Hurricane Jeanne has forced the postponement of Sunday’s game between the Steelers and the Dolphins.

The game has not been rescheduled. With Pittsburgh already in South Florida, speculation earlier in the week thought the game would be played Monday or Tuesday. Fantasy owners of Duce Staley and Hines Ward, Chris Chambers, and Randy McMichael should hope for a resolution before 1 PM Sunday. The possibility of the game being rescheduled later in the season may be remote, but would be a fantasy killer this week.

Owner Wayne Huizenga doesn’t plan to fire coach Dave Wannstedt or GM Rick Spielman during the season.

“I would lean toward saying yes, we’ll wait till [the] season’s over,” Huizenga said. Now that’s a vote of confidence.

Owner Wayne Huizenga has assured coach Dave Wannstedt he won’t be fired during the team’s bye week.

There are tough losses and there is losing to the Cardinals at home after a late penalty costs you the game. It would be showing mercy to fire Wanny at this point.

The Dolphins are expected to offer Nick Saban their head coaching job in the next few days, with full power over Miami’s football operations.

The deal should be worth $4-5 million a year. There is no reason to think Saban will turn it down. GM Rick Spielman would likely be fired or demoted.

Coach Dave Wannstedt is expected to resign today as head coach of the Dolphins.

Defensive coordinator Jim Bates is expected to be named the interim head coach. We noticed that coach Wannstedt was unusually jovial at his weekly press conference. Did he see the light at the end of the tunnel? Wannstedt met with owner Wayne Huizenga later in the afternoon, then agreed to resign. He was probably forced to. Fantasy-wise, we can’t see this helping matters.

The Dolphins are expected to hire Texans defensive line coach Todd Grantham as their defensive coordinator.

Grantham worked with Dolphins coach Nick Saban at Michigan St.

Patriots secondary coach Eric Mangini met with the Miami Dolphins Thursday about their defensive coordinator position.

The hottest coaching candidate on the market will meet with Cleveland Thursday. While conventional wisdom says he’d take the promotion with New England, ''League sources’’ told ESPN.com Mangini will not return to the Pats.

Dolphins owner Stephen Ross has reportedly been checking in with ex-Browns coach Eric Mangini “on a fairly regular basis” for consultation on the state of the team.

Ross’ phone calls to Mangini actually date back to last year. While the owner respects Mangini’s opinion (even from afar), the Miami Herald’s Armando Salguero reports that the current ESPN analyst is “positively not a candidate” to take over as head coach on an interim basis in the event of a Tony Sparano firing. Mangini isn’t even viewed as an option for 2012.

The Dolphins and Steelers are investigating the possibility of moving their game up to Saturday because of Hurricane Jeanne.

The Steelers will fly to South Florida on Friday, one day ahead of their typical travel schedule. A decision is expected sometime Friday morning.

The Dolphins-Steelers game has been rescheduled to 8:30 PM Sunday.

This doesn’t really affect fantasy leaguers.
