Michigan junior DT Donovan Jeter was a standout performer during spring practice.
247Sports analyst Zach Shaw ranks Jeter as UM’s No. 2 breakout candidate to emerge from the spring. The 6-foot-5, 255-pound junior pushed hard enough during offseason practices to earn a start in Michigan’s spring game. He has yet to make a huge contribution on the field -- just three career tackles -- but Shaw believes that he could potentially push for starting work in August camp, especially if he can build off of what he’s done so far this spring.

Notre Dame received a verbal commitment from four-star 2017 DT Donovan Jeter.
Jeter took an official visit to the Irish over the weekend and while Notre Dame might not have won the game, they won something more important -- the 6-foot-5, 255-pounder’s heart. Rivals recruiting analyst Adam Friedman notes that Jeter is “a physically gifted defensive lineman [who] can play multiple positions across the defensive front” and adds that "[h]e has the frame to bulk up and play defensive tackle but he is also quick enough off the line of scrimmage to play the strongside defensive end.” Jeter ranks as the outlet’s No. 14 defensive tackle prospect for the 2017 cycle.

Notre Dame four-star 2017 verbal DT commit Donovan Jeter has reopened his recruitment.
Well that was quick. Jeter initially committed to the Irish cause in mid-September following an official visit to campus. Come mid-October, no longer. While the 6-foot-5, 255-pound lineman plans on sniffing around for other options, he did say on Twitter that Notre Dame remains his “top school.” Per Jeter, Oklahoma has already tossed him an offer in the short time since his decommitment. Alabama, Pittsburgh, Penn State, Ohio State and Tennessee were all in the running for his pledge over the summer. It is not yet known when Rivals’ No. 14 defensive tackle recruit will next commit to a program.

Michigan signed four-star 2017 DT Donovan Jeter.
Jeter was committed to Notre Dame for a month this past autumn, but reopened his recruitment in mid-October. He pledged himself to Michigan just days later. Scout.com’s Brian Dohn refers to the 6-foot-5, 255-pounder as an “intriguing prospect” due to his length and frame. Dohn’s outlet ranked him as the No. 2 defensive end prospect in the state of Pennsylvania for the 2017 cycle.
