Wesley and Carson-Newman LB Larry Lumpkin were widely viewed as the best prospects available after Baylor WR Josh Gordon. Though productive at TCU, Wesley clocked out near 4.70 in the forty at just 5'8" and 196 pounds. Lumpkin was an All-South Atlantic Conference pick, but one coach acknowledged he had “a lot of issues” in college. All draft-eligible players not selected on Thursday are now free agents.

Wesley, a rookie out of TCU who went undrafted in the Supplemental Draft, projects as mere depth. He goes 5'8/196 yet ran a 4.67 at his pro day. Wesley will slot in behind DeMarco Murray, Felix Jones and Phillip Tanner on the depth chart.

Unpicked in July’s Supplemental Draft, Wesley was buried on Dallas’ depth chart and unneeded with Felix Jones now healthy. Wesley likely lacks an NFL future.
