Chiefs signed RB Elijah McGuire to the practice squad.
McGuire was with the Chiefs in 2019 and 2020 but hasn’t taken a regular season snap since the 2018 season. Familiar with Andy Reid’s playbook, McGuire at least offers insurance in the short-term in place of Clyde Edwards-Helaire (knee, week-to-week).

Chiefs re-signed RB Elijah McGuire to a one-year contract.
The 26-year-old veteran hasn’t taken a regular season rep since December 2018. He’ll likely land on Kansas City’s practice squad given Darrel Williams’ return on a one-year deal.

Chiefs brought in free agent RB Elijah McGuire for a visit.
The team is looking to add running back depth after losing Clyde Edwards-Helaire to hip and ankle injuries in Week 15. McGuire spent the end of the 2019 season with Kansas City before signing with the Dolphins this season. The veteran started five games for the Jets in 2017 and 2018. If the Chiefs sign him, McGuire probably won’t be activated to the game day roster unless Le’Veon Bell or Darrel Williams miss time. Kansas City hope to have CEH back for the playoffs.

Dolphins promoted RB Elijah McGuire from the practice squad.
It is the corresponding roster move to Myles Gaskin landing on the COVID-19 list. Formerly hamstring-hobbled DeAndre Washington will lead the Dolphins’ backfield against the Chiefs, but Patrick Laird and McGuire will be waiting in the wings. Even were Washington to suffer an early aggravation, it is unlikely McGuire would see enough work to generate FLEX value.

Chiefs signed RB Elijah McGuire to a reserve/future contract.
McGuire spent the year on practice squads after he could not make the Jets’ 53-man roster out of training camp. McGuire is a replacement-level runner capable of catching a pass. Even with the Chiefs’ backfield in flux, McGuire is unlikely to be a part of the 2020 plan.

Free agent RB Elijah McGuire worked out for the Chiefs.
McGuire has been out of the league since getting waived by the Browns in Week 2. The Chiefs have Damien Williams (ribs) and LeSean McCoy both banged up, though McCoy avoided getting placed in the concussion protocol. McGuire could be a depth signing if Williams misses time.

Free agent RB Elijah McGuire worked out for the Ravens.
We haven’t heard much from the ex-Jet this year, who was briefly on the Browns’ 53-man roster in September. The Ravens are just updating their emergency list.

    Browns waived RB Elijah McGuire.
McGuire’s release was a foregone conclusion after Dontrell Hilliard cleared the concussion protocol. McGuire served his purpose as a Jets mole for Week 2. The Browns will presumably try to stash him back to the practice squad.

Browns promoted RB Elijah McGuire from their practice squad.
Fittingly, McGuire will make his Browns debut against the Jets, who waived him at final cuts this summer. He gives Cleveland some backfield depth with Dontrell Hilliard in the concussion protocol.

Browns signed RB Elijah McGuire to their practice squad.
Apparently this was the best McGuire could do after passing through waivers unclaimed. The 2017 sixth-rounder spent the bulk of his Jets tenure running into brick walls, producing an underwhelming 3.3 yards per carry over that span. McGuire did show a nose for the end zone (six touchdowns in two seasons), however, and is a capable pass-catcher out of the backfield. Whether it’s in Cleveland or elsewhere, the 25-year-old should earn a backup role at some point.
