Texans G Fred Weary needed to be carted off the field in the second quarter Sunday with an apparent knee injury.
Weary was injured while pass blocking. He probably won’t return, as the game was stopped for several minutes and he appeared to be seriously hurt.

Texans coach Gary Kubiak confirmed after Sunday’s game that Gs Chris White and Fred Weary will miss the remainder of the season with knee and leg injuries, respectively.
Weary broke his leg, while White torn his medial collateral ligament. The Texans will likely turn to rookie Kasey Studdard at right guard for now.

Browns signed OG Fred Weary, formerly of the Texans.
Weary, 32, missed all of 2008 after suffering a triple leg fracture that eventually led to microfracture surgery. It’s hard to believe he has much left.
  • CLE Guard
Browns released OG Fred Weary with an injury settlement.
The Browns never detailed Weary’s injury, but he’s long had leg issues.
  • CLE Guard
Browns placed OG Fred Weary on injured reserve, ending his season.
Weary’s injury was never disclosed, but he had been coming off a compound leg fracture. The 31-year-old former Texan’s career is probably over.

Texans placed RG Fred Weary on injured reserve, ending his season.
Weary was thought to be healthy heading into camp this year but didn’t look physically sound. He could be done as a Texan.
  • CLE Guard
    Texans re-signed G Fred Weary to a one-year, $1.5 million contract.
The Texans didn’t draft a guard, so Weary will likely enter camp with a good shot to start. He’s been with the team since its inaugural season in 2002.
  • CLE Guard
Texans RG Fred Weary (fractured tibia and fibula) isn’t participating in minicamp drills because he continues to rehab.
Weary should be fully healthy by next month. “Training camp is what we’re looking for,” coach Gary Kubiak said. “We feel good that he’ll be 100 percent pretty quick.”
  • CLE Guard
    Texans waived G Fred Weary.
Weary, an original Texan, was already on injured reserve with complications from last year’s fractured tibia and fibula. He will need microfracture surgery on his knee and probably won’t play again in the league.
  • CLE Guard
    Texans re-signed G Fred Weary.
Terms of the contract have not yet been disclosed. The 2002 third-rounder started four games in 2005 but should be a reserve in the upcoming season.
