The Giants have signed QB Jacob Eason to their practice squad.
Signing Eason indicates a move for Daniel Jones to go on injured reserve after suffering an ACL injury in Week 9. Eason has bounced around teams since entering the league in 2020, and is now behind Tommy DeVito and Matt Barkley for the Giants. The Giants also added RB Hassan Hall to their practice squad.
  • Running Back
Former Louisville senior RB Hassan Hall has committed to Georgia Tech.
The Yellow Jackets appear to have found their replacement for running back Jahmyr Gibbs, who opted to transfer to Alabama this offseason after two seasons at Georgia Tech. This season at Louisville, Hall saw minimal work, rushing just 37 times for 278 yards and one touchdown on the season, which was a drop off from the run he saw in 2020 when he rushed for 55-217-2. In four seasons at Louisville, Hall has a rushing line of 270-1310-11 (4.9 yards per carry) and has also caught 22 passes for 175 yards. He should get a chance to see a bit more work at Georgia Tech this season, as he looks to close out his collegiate career.

  • Running Back
Louisville senior RB Hassan Hall has entered the transfer portal.
Hall (6'/204) entered as a graduate transfer and he will have one year of eligibility remaining. This season for the Cardinals, Hall has played in all nine games in a reserve role and has 272 yards rushing on 38 carries. Over his career, Hall has mostly played in a reserve role, but he has still made an impact, amassing 1,299 yards and 11 touchdowns on the ground, while also contributing two kick return touchdowns.

    Maurice Burkley
    LOU #36
Louisville sophomore RB Maurice Burkley has been ruled out for the remainder of the season due to a lower body injury.
Burkley (6'0/210) was injured during the Cardinals’ 30-0 win over Syracuse last Friday, and his injury leaves Louisville even lighter at the running back position. The team was already without leading rusher Javian Hawkins, who opted out earlier in November. Hassan Hall will shoulder the load for the Cardinals moving forward.

  • Running Back
Louisville junior RB Hassan Hall is expected to be available for Friday’s game vs. Syracuse after missing time with an undisclosed injury.
Hall (6'0/204) hasn’t appeared in a game since he was injured during the Cardinals’ loss to Notre Dame on October 17. His return to action couldn’t have come at a better time for Louisville, as leading rusher Javian Hawkins announced on Monday that he was opting out of the remainder of the season and will instead prepare for the 2021 NFL Draft. Hall, who has rushed for 144 yards on 26 carries this season, has also returned eight kickoffs for 181 yards.

  • MIA Wide Receiver #4
Louisville junior WR Tutu Atwell and redshirt sophomore RB Javian Hawkins are among the seven players who have been ruled out for Saturday’s game vs. Virginia for undisclosed reasons.
In total seven players are on Louisville’s inactive list, with the running back and defensive line being hit especially hard. With Hawkins (822 rushing yards, seven rushing TDs) and Hassan Hall (26 carries, 144 yards) out the Cardinals will without their top two rushers, and Atwell (40-528-5) is the team’s most explosive player on the offensive side of the football. Look for a healthy dose of Maurice Burkley at running back. As for the defensive line, starters YaYa Diaby, Derek Dorsey and Tabarius Peterson have all been ruled out. Cornerback Chandler Jones is the fourth defensive player on the inactive list.

  • Running Back
Louisville junior RB Hassan Hall has been ruled out for Saturday’s game vs. Florida State due to an undisclosed injury.
Hall (6'0/204) was banged up during the Cardinals’ loss at Notre Dame last weekend, returning two kickoffs for 51 yards but not recording any offensive statistics. The junior running back’s best game this season was also his first, as he rushed for 66 yards on six carries in Louisville’s season-opening in over Western Kentucky. Javian Hawkins remains Louisville’s first choice at running back, and Hall’s absence doesn’t change that.

  • Running Back
Nicole Auerbach of The Athletic reports that Louisville junior RB Hassan Hall is expected to expand his role in 2020 for the Cardinals.
The bellcow in the Louisville offense will obviously be Javian Hawkins as long as he’s healthy; the redshirt sophomore ran for 1,525 yards which was a school record. Behind Hawkins will be a competent backup in Hall, a tailback who ran for 501 yards and averaged 4.6 yards per carry, but also 30.5 yards per kick-return with a touchdown. Louisville should have one of the better offenses in the ACC if they get consistent quarterback play, and Hall (6'0/204) should be a reason why.

  • Running Back
Louisville sophomore RB Hassan Hall is available to play in Saturday’s game against Virginia after suffering a lower leg injury last weekend.
Hall (6'0/196) was injured during last weekend’s loss to Clemson, but after going through pregame warmups without any issues he’s available to play against Virginia. The sophomore running back is averaging 4.1 yards per game this season, rushing for 307 yards and three touchdowns.
  • Running Back
Louisville sophomore RB Hassan Hall is considered to be day-to-day after leaving Saturday’s loss to Clemson with a lower body injury.
Hall (6'0/186) was injured on a kickoff return during the first half, and his departure left Maurice Burkley to serve as Javian Hawkins’ backup. As the sophomore running back works his way back to full strength, Burkley will back up Hawkins with HC Scott Satterfield saying that freshmen Aidan Robbins and Jalen Mitchell could also see some playing time.
