Texans HC DeMeco Ryans said C Jake Andrews has a foot injury and will undergo further evaluations.

We don’t know the severity of Andrews’ injury, but the third-year center was carted off the field in the third quarter and did not return to the field. Andrews was claimed off waivers by the Texans earlier this offseason and earned the starting job in training camp. Andrews appeared on 45 snaps in his Week 1 outing against the Rams, earning a blocking grade of 72.7 on the day, per PFF.

Texans C Jake Andrews (ankle) left Houston’s Week 1 game against the Rams and is questionable to return.

He was carted off — never a great sign — after limping to the sideline under his own power. Jarrett Patterson took over at center for the Texans.

Patriots selected Jake Andrews with the No. 107 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft.

Andrews (6’2.75/306) was a 3-star recruit and the 105th-ranked offensive tackle in the 2018 recruiting class according to 247 Sports. Andrews has one full season of starting experience at center after playing two seasons at right guard. This helps his NFL stock as he would have been moved to center upon being drafted anyway. Andrews is a heady player that is quick in his execution of the given play. This is especially noticeable when he is slipping a Defensive Tackle to make a block on the second level. Though Andrews has a noticeable lack of length and surplus weight, his willing approach to do whatever it takes to ensure the success of a play will endear himself to a coaching staff.
