Just further proof that Marc Bulger isn’t expected to play.

Martin has been dealing with a family issue. The other Saints backups have struggled in his absence. Martin is the favorite to backup Drew Brees, which should make Saints fan shudder.

The Rams offense completely fell apart without Marc Bulger. He should be back for next Monday night’s game at Philadelphia. That should make Isaac Bruce safer to use.

Chris Chandler was miserable to start the game, so coach Martz made the switch. Martin was just signed two weeks ago, but has been with the Rams plenty under Martz.

He’ll probably be the backup to Chris Chandler, coach Mike Martz said today.

Martin inherited a 17-0 lead and lost a blowout, but actually moved the ball well for much of the game. Two ugly picks in the second half forced the coaching staff to return to the run. With the Saints on the schedule next week, you could do worse than Martin if you looking for QB help.

Storm the waiver wires! He’s a Rams quarterback.

Martin looked terrible for most of the day, but completed a 42-yard pass to Kevin Curtis on the team’s game-winning drive. It was his first win in four career starts. He’s no sort of option against the Jaguars next week.

Bulger’s shoulder injury may keep him out through the Rams’ November 6 bye, giving Martin at least two weeks at the helm. He’s a solid start this week in leagues with two QBs.

Frankly, we were shocked Martin could make so many good throws against a top-notch defense. He’ll return to the bench next game with Marc Bulger getting healthy.
