NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports defensive line coach Jay Rodgers and safeties coach Sean Desai are the top internal candidates to replace Chuck Pagano.

With Pagano retired, the Bears need to make a decision on Rodgers, whose contract expires next week. He’s also expected to receive coordinator interest by other head coaches around the league. Desai has been with Chicago since 2013 and has spent the last two years as the safeties coach. Neither would be flashy hires, but promoting from within would make sense for a defense that ranked just outside the top 10 in total yards in 2020.
