  • FA Wide Receiver #5
WR Jarvis Landry worked out for the Colts on Tuesday.
The 31-year-old Landry has yet to play this season, but with the Colts suspending WR Isaiah McKenzie, they held a workout that included Landry. While the former Cleveland Brown did not sign with the Colts immediately, they did add Jaydon Mickens to their practice squad.
  • Wide Receiver #17
    Jaguars signed WR Jaydon Mickens.
This is likely a direct result of Jamal Agnew’s season-ending injury. Mickens is a special teams-only player who doesn’t contribute much on offense. The Buccaneers cut Mickens in October and gave their return duties to rookie Jaelon Darden. Mickens should step in as the Jaguars’ primary kick and punt returner.

  • Wide Receiver #17
    Bucs released KR Jaydon Mickens.
Mickens was the Bucs’ primary returner on both punts and kickoffs but he didn’t offer any utility on offense. Rookie receiver Jaelon Darden will take on those duties with Mickens no longer around.

  • FA Wide Receiver #81
Bucs declared WR Antonio Brown (COVID-19), LB Kevin Minter, Jason Pierre Paul (hand/shoulder), WR Jaydon Mickens (abdomen), DL Khalil Davis, OL Nick Leverett, and QB Kyle Trask in inactive for Week 3 against the Rams.
It’s no surprise, since Brown was ruled out Saturday when he didn’t make the trip to LA with the Bucs. His absence will open up snaps and targets for Scotty Miller and Tyler Johnson in what could be a high-scoring affair against the high-powered Rams.

  • Wide Receiver #17
Bucs head coach Bruce Arians said WR Jaydon Mickens (abdomen) would not travel with the team to face the Rams in Week 3.
Primarily a kicker returner, Mickens had a chance to see some receiver snaps this week with Antonio Brown (COVID-19) sidelined (Brown hasn’t been ruled out yet). Brown’s absence will open up snaps and routes for Tyler Johnson and Scotty Miller, who led Tampa in receiving yards and air yards before Brown joined the team last year in Week 9.

  • Wide Receiver #17
Bucs WR Jaydon Mickens was arrested in Los Angeles on felony firearms charges.
Mickens was found to have a concealed firearm in his vehicle. The 5-foo-11 26-year-old played 84 regular season snaps for the Super Bowl champions, catching seven balls on 10 targets. Mickens is primarily a return man.

  • Wide Receiver #17
    Buccaneers waived WR Jaydon Mickens.
Mickens had been the team’s primary kick and punt returner before being moved to the COVID list in mid-November. Rookie RB Kenjon Barner will instead soak up that role leading up to (and through) the postseason.

  • Wide Receiver #17
Buccaneers activated WR Jaydon Mickens from the reserve/COVID-19 list.
Mickens was averaging 24.1 yards on kick returns for special teams before being moving to the COVID list mid-November. The team also activated RB T.J. Logan back to the active roster.

  • Wide Receiver #17
Bucs placed WR Jaydon Mickens on the reserve/COVID-19 list.
Mickens was buried on the receiver depth chart with Antonio Brown reinstated, but this is a downgrade to Tampa’s special teams, with Mickens averaging 24.1 yards on kick returns. The Bucs also placed practice squad WR Cyril Grayson on the COVID-19 list.

  • Wide Receiver #17
Jaydon Mickens caught 5-of-8 targets for 36 yards in the Bucs’ Week 8 win against the Giants.
Mickens inexplicably led the Bucs in targets on Monday night, playing 62.8 percent of the team’s offensive snaps. Tom Brady targeted Mickens in the end zone on a would-be touchdown that was stopped by a defender grabbing Mickens. Tampa’s revolving cast of wideouts who emerge as fantasy options when Chris Godwin (finger) is out has proven maddening this season. Godwin’s possible return and Antonio Brown expected to be active next week against the Saints ensures Mickens won’t be fantasy viable until Tampa struggles once again with receiver injuries.
