Bucs agreed to terms with LS Jeremy Cain.
Cain has been long-snapping for various teams since 2004, but appeared in only two games for the Bears last season. Going on 34, Cain should face competition in training camp.
  • Linebacker
Eagles released FB Jeremy Cain, DT Jeremy Clark, WR Zac Collie, LB Tank Daniels, FB Jason Davis, CB Dustin Fox, S C.J. Gaddis, WR Michael Gasperson, S Erick Harris, C Jasper Harvey, G Jacob Hobbs, DT Mauricio Lopez, DE Marques Murrell, WR J.J. Outloaw, T Jon Palmer, LB Dedrick Roper, WR Bill Sampy and TE Lee Vickers.
None of these players were expected to make the team.
  • TEN Center
Titans LS Ken Amato tore his ACL in Sunday’s game. He will be placed on injured reserve, ending his season.
Amato, who doesn’t play on offense or defense, remains under contract with Tennessee through 2009. The team signed LB Jeremy Cain from their practice squad to take over long snapping duties.
  • Linebacker
Titans signed FB Jeremy Cain from their practice squad.
Cain, who converted to fullback from linebacker during training camp with Philadelphia, adds depth with starter Ahmard Hall nursing a broken arm. He also can long snap, which makes Cain the favorite to fill in for Ken Amato, who has been lost for the season with a torn ACL.
  • Linebacker
Jaguars claimed LS Jeremy Cain off waivers from the Redskins.
Technically labeled a linebacker, Cain’s real position is deep snapper. He’ll provide competition for veteran incumbent Joe Zelenka.
  • Linebacker
    Redskins waived LS/LB Jeremy Cain.
Cain will try to catch on as a long snapper in another team’s training camp.
  • Linebacker
Titans released FB/LB Jeremy Cain and DE Eric Taylor.
Cain is purely a special teamer; Taylor has no obvious NFL future.
  • WAS Wide Receiver
Redskins signed WR Marques Hagans, P Zac Atterberry, LS Jeremy Cain, FB Jonathan Evans, CB Michael Grant, OL Rueben Riley, OL Isaiah Ross, and LB Tyson Smith to reserve/future contracts.
With position versatility, Riley isn’t a bad guy for the Skins to take a chance on when they’re desperate for young linemen. Grant has great speed, but probably is too raw to help yet. Hagans is a fourth-year journeyman.
  • Linebacker
    Jaguars re-signed LS Jeremy Cain.
Details are not yet known. Cain has 49 games of deep-snapping experience, including 32 with the Jaguars. The 31-year-old has also made an impressive 13 special tackles in coverage over the past two seasons.
