NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports the Raiders are expected to hire Bucs assistant general manager John Spytek for their general manager vacancy.
As Rapoport points out, Spytek was in the Bucs’ front office when they brought it Tom Brady and won a Super Bowl. Brady is now a part-owner of the Raiders and is heavily involved in their search for a new head coach and general manager. Spytek also had interviews with the Titans this offseason. His first order of business will be landing the aforementioned head coach. Ben Johnson was the team’s top target but took the Bears’ gig instead. With fellow Buccaneer Liam Coen deciding to stay in Tampa Bay and Lions DC Aaron Glenn likely headed for New York, the coaching pool is thinning out rather quickly, leaving the Raiders scrambling once again.

Raiders conducted a second interview with Bucs assistant general manager John Spytek for the team’s general manager vacancy.
Among the most sought after front office hires in this cycle, Spytek is also talking to the Titans about their GM opening. A second interview means the Raiders are likely to offer the job to Spytek, Tampa’s assistant GM for the past two seasons who was integral in creating the Bucs roster that won the Super Bowl following the 2020 season. Tom Brady, minority owner of the Raiders, was of course part of that team.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports Buccanneers assistant GM John Spytek will meet with the Titans for a second interview for their general manager vacancy.
Spytek was one of two members from the Buccaneers’ front office to meet with the Titans over their general manager vacancy. Spytek has been in his current role for the last two seasons. The Buccaneers have qualified for the postseason for five straight years and nearly defeated the Commanders in the NFC Wild Card Round if not for a late fumble by Baker Mayfield. Spytek is one of several candidates to earn a second interview with the Titans, as they continue to search for Ran Carthon’s replacement.

Titans requested an interview with Bucs assistant GM John Spytek for their general manager vacancy.
Spytek previously held the title of Vice President of Player Personnel for the Bucs before being promoted to assistant GM two seasons ago. He is one of six interview requests the Titans have made. Fellow Tampa Bay staffer Mike Greenberg also has an interview request from the Jets. Having flawlessly transitioned from the Tom Brady era to the Baker Mayfield era, the Bucs front office will rightfully get plenty of looks for new jobs elsewhere in the league.

The Steelers plan to interview Bucs VP of player personnel John Spytek for their general manager job.
It’s the third team to interview Spytek after he had interest from the Vikings and Raiders. Spytek has worked alongside GM Jason Licht the past six years in Tampa’s front office, playing a role in shaping the team’s 2020 Super Bowl roster. Spytek would replace Kevin Colbert in Pittsburgh, who is expected to retire following April’s draft.

The Raiders have requested permission to interview Bucs VP of player personnel John Spytek for their general manager vacancy.
It is Spytek’s second interview request after Minnesota reached out two weeks ago. He has worked alongside GM Jason Licht the past six years. Tampa’s front office would not have been the first place teams looked for executive talent before Tom Brady arrived, though Brady did help highlight a roster that was stocked with talented pieces by Licht and his compatriots, just one that could not get over the top.

The Vikings requested to interview Bucs VP of player personnel John Spytek for their general-manager vacancy.
Spytek is in his sixth season with the Bucs as GM Jason Licht’s righthand man, assisting Licht in free agency and overseeing the college and scouting departments. Prior to joining the Bucs, Spytek spent time with the Broncos and Browns. Along with Spytek, the Vikings have reached out to Patriots staffer Eliot Wolf and Browns executives Kwesi Adofo-Mensah and Glenn Cook.
