    Raiders released S Josh Bullocks.
The former Saints and Bears safety was signed two weeks ago when Hiram Eugene was lost to a dislocated hip. Bullocks must not have shown much late in camp.
  • LV Defensive Back
Raiders signed safeties Josh Bullocks and Matt Giordano.
Both are veteran special teams types, who in Oakland will compete for roster spots behind Tyvon Branch and Michael Huff. Hiram Eugene is headed for I.R.
  • FA Defensive Back
Bears third-round pick Major Wright is expected to be in the mix to start at free safety right away.
Wright and Chris Harris could end up forming a brand new, hard-hitting safety tandem for the Bears. Even if Wright doesn’t beat out Craig Steltz and Josh Bullocks right away, we’d expect him to secure the job eventually.
  • LV Defensive Back
Saints safety Josh Bullocks has already earned a regular spot in the New Orleans defense.
The kid has solid instincts and could be starting by then end of this season. Long-term, the Saints would probably like to play Bullocks across from Dwight Smith.
  • LV Defensive Back
Saints signed safety Josh Bullocks, a second round pick, to a five-year contract.
Bullocks is a run-stuffing safety that should be an IDP factor before long. Look for him to replace Jay Bellamy eventually, possibly during his rookie season.
  • Defensive Back
Strong safety Roman Harper lined up as a starter during the Saints’ last round of Organized Team Activities.
Josh Bullocks took his usual spot at free safety. Harper should retain his starting job despite recovering from surgery for a torn ACL.

Kevin Kaesviharn is behind Josh Bullocks at free safety in New Orleans.
Kaesviharn is virtually assured to be New Orleans’ third safety at worst, but he could pass Bullocks closer to or during the season. Roman Harper appears safe on the strong side despite coming off a major injury.
  • LV Defensive Back
The Saints are expected to rotate safeties Kevin Kaesviharn, Roman Harper, and Josh Bullocks this season.
Harper and Bullocks are both natural strong safeties, while Kaesviharn has above-average cover skills and is the most proven playmaker of the bunch. It wouldn’t be a surprise to see Bullocks open the year as Harper’s backup.

Saints FS Josh Bullocks injured his quadriceps in pre-game warmups before Monday night’s win over Atlanta.
Bullocks had not been on the injury report leading up to the game, so his inactivity was a surprise. Kevin Kaesviharn, who started in his place, had five tackles and two breakups. Bullocks’ status for Week 15 is unknown.
