Raiders agreed to terms with Greg Spires.
The Bucs-Raiders pipeline continues to go both ways. Spires could be of use to Oakland as a reserve, but he’s no lock to make the roster after missing six games last year. He’ll compete with DEs Jay Richardson and Kalimba Edwards.

Jay Richardson is currently working as Oakland’s starting right defensive end.
Kalimba Edwards is the nickel rusher. If Richardson holds onto the job, he’d be a nice IDP sleeper in deep leagues, but not a double-digit sack threat.
  • MIN Wide Receiver
Javon Walker and DE Kalimba Edwards practiced for the Raiders Saturday, making them likely to play Oakland’s season opener.
Walker (questionable, hamstring) isn’t 100%, but is close enough to play against the Broncos. If he can’t get motivated and perform against the team that cut him, it could be a long season. We’d still stay away from him in fantasy leagues.

Raiders DE Kalimba Edwards remains out with a groin injury.
If Edwards can’t go Monday, rookie Trevor Scott is expected to take over on passing downs.

Raiders DE Kalimba Edwards (groin) is expected to make his season debut Sunday.
The Raiders hope Edwards will give the pass rush a boost against Damon Huard and the Chiefs.

Kalimba Edwards opened Organized Team Activities as the Raiders’ starting right defensive end.
He’s there over Greg Spires. Jay Richardson opened at left end with Derrick Burgess absent. The Lions couldn’t get any production out of Edwards, but perhaps coordinator Rob Ryan can. It isn’t ability Edwards is lacking.
