Rams re-signed OG Kevin Dotson to a three-year, $48 million contract.
Dotson was a fourth-round pick by the Steelers in 2020. He joined the Rams last summer when he was traded in a deal that also included several Day 3 draft picks. Dotson would go on to start all 14 games he appeared in for the Rams last season, playing exclusively at right guard while earning a PFF blocking grade of 85.2—the highest grade of his career. Dotson’s new deal includes $32 million in guaranteed money and will keep him under contract through 2026.

Steelers selected UL-Lafayette G Kevin Dotson with the No. 135 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.
Dotson (6’4/310) was a captain and four-year starting right guard at Louisiana who earned first-team All-American honors as a redshirt senior. He graded out as PFF’s No. 1 overall interior lineman with elite marks as a run blocker but still went uninvited to the NFL Combine. On tape, he stands out as a big and powerful presence, although he looks like a limited athlete with questionable balance. Dotson’s size, leadership, and on-field production make him an intriguing backup with starting potential, but he will already be 24 years old as a rookie.

In the opinion of Dane Brugler of The Athletic, Louisiana G Kevin Dotson needs to do a better job of trusting his technique at the next level.
Dotson (6'4/321), who was named a first-team All-American by the Associated Press, used his physical strength to win the majority of his battles at the line of scrimmage. But he at times had issues when the power approach wasn’t effective, getting sloppy with his technique as a result. “He tends to default to his power too often instead of trusting his technique and his snap-to-snap urgency could use a boost,” Brugler wrote in his analysis of Dotson, who projects to be on that Day 2/3 line at this point in the pre-draft process.

Louisiana redshirt senior G Kevin Dotson has accepted an invitation to play in the East-West Shrine Bowl.
Dotson (6'4/321) was one of the best guards in college football this season, as he was named a first team all-American by the Associated Press. The redshirt senior was given a third round grade by Pro Football Network ahead of the Lending Tree Bowl, and if he isn’t taken on Day 2 of the NFL Draft Dotson shouldn’t have to wait too long to hear his name called on Day 3.

Louisiana redshirt senior G Kevin Dotson was given a third-round grade by Pro Football Network draft analyst Andrew DiCecco.
Dotson (6'4/321) became the first player in the history of the Louisiana program to be named a first-team All-American by the Associated Press last month. And the honor was well-deserved, as the redshirt senior was outstanding as both a run and pass-blocker. Dotson was given a third-round grade by DiCecco, who describes the offensive lineman as being “extremely efficient with his hand placement and has nimble feet.” In addition to Monday’s Lending Tree Bowl matchup with Miami (OH), Dotson’s skills will also be on display at the East-West Shrine Bowl.

Louisiana redshirt senior G Kevin Dotson became the first player in school history to land on the Associated Press’ first-team All-America squad.
Dotson (6'4/321) joins Wyatt Davis of Ohio State on this year’s prestigious AP All-America team. In addition to making school history, Dotson is one of just two non-Power 5 players to make this year’s All-America offense, alongside Florida Atlantic tight end Harrison Bryant. Dotson’s rise has been meteoric this season and may even be impressive enough to make him worth a draft pick after having been completely off the radar before this season.

Louisiana redshirt senior OL Kevin Dotson is Pro Football Focus’ highest-graded interior offensive linemen to this point in the season.
Dotson was unheralded by most heading into the season, but has been PFF’s most dominant interior offensive lineman of the season. Dotson is a four-year starter at guard who has really come into his own as a senior. At 6-foot-4, 321-pounds, Dotson has a massive frame that helps him bully Group of Five defensive linemen. However, Dotson will likely be an undrafted free agent come April.
