NFL Media’s Lance Zierlein wrote that North Texas DL LaDarius Hamilton’s “athletic limitations” are a concern when it comes to his NFL prospects.

Hamilton (6'2/267) put up some solid numbers at the NFL Scouting Combine, running the 40 in 4.89 seconds and tallying 27 reps in the bench press. But being able to perform well in athletic testing drills aren’t as helpful if the game tape doesn’t match up. And in the case of Hamilton, while he made strides throughout his UNT career there’s still a lot of work to be done. “You won’t see him making a bunch of tackles, but he does have edge-setting strength and determination,” Zierlein wrote. “He has steadily improved as a pass rusher, but athletic limitations could make it challenging to translate his college production into the pros.” Hamilton projects to be an UDFA this spring.

North Texas senior DL LaDarius Hamilton has accepted an invitation to play in the East-West Shrine Bowl.

Hamilton (6'3/260) and teammate Mason Fine both accepted their invitations on Friday. In the case of the senior defensive lineman, he’s coming off of a season in which he accounted for 39 total tackles (10.5 for loss), 8.5 sacks, one forced fumble and seven quarterback hurries. Hamilton projects to be an undrafted free agent, but he’ll have the opportunity to change that with a good week at the Shrine Bowl next month.
