According to the Miami Herald, the Dolphins have acquired RB Lamar Gordon from the Rams.
Terms of the deal were not known, but Gordon will take a physical today. The Dolphins likely had to give up either a third- or fourth-round pick for Gordon, but get a player they have liked for several years. Gordon immediately becomes a starter in Miami and should be owned in all leagues. Travis Minor will be used as a third-down back, and be dropped in most leagues.
  • DET Running Back
Lamar Gordon, recovering from ankle surgery, returned to Rams practice Monday in limited fashion.
It’s unclear whether Gordon will be ready for week one. He’s solidly behind rookie Stephen Jackson on the depth chart.
  • DET Running Back
Lamar Gordon could see limited action on Saturday.
“If we can use him at all, we’ll put him up and try to use him,” coach Dave Wannstedt said. Gordon still won’t be worth starting in fantasy leagues.

Coach Mike Martz said RB Lamar Gordon, who had ankle surgery on Aug. 10, is running again and could be back in a couple of weeks.
Gordon should be the No. 3 running back for the Rams once healthy.
  • DET Running Back
Dolphins running back Lamar Gordon underwent successful surgery on his left shoulder yesterday.
Gordon had already been placed on injured reserve.
  • DET Running Back
Lamar Gordon will be healthy enough to perform all offseason activities.
He should be back with the Dolphins, but likely as a third-down back. The Dolphins will go for a premiere running back in the draft or free agency.
  • DET Running Back
Rams reserve running back Lamar Gordon has been outshining Steven Jackson early in training camp.
While very early, there should be no assumptions that Jackson will be the backup to Marshall Faulk. We learned last season (Larry Johnson) that first-round running backs don’t always play. While we expect Jackson to get work, a top 80 pick for him is a reach.

Rams backup RB Lamar Gordon has been gimpy at times during training camp with an ankle injury.
He’s day-to-day. Gordon has yet to shake the injury bug that has plagued his career. He’s not worth drafting in fantasy leagues with Steven Jackson around.
  • DET Running Back
Lamar Gordon has been dropped below Sammy Morris on Miami’s depth chart.
The Dolphins want power running and Gordon doesn’t cut it. He’s a long way from having any value, even in deep dynasty leagues.

Scout.com reports the Texans plan to try out Lamar Gordon.
Gordon, the former Ram, Dolphin, and Eagle, could help on returns and as a reserve tailback. We’re a little surprised Houston doesn’t entertain bringing Jonathan Wells back.
